MAHA TET exam pattern 2025 is prescribed by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE). The Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) exam is conducted for two papers- Paper 1 and 2. MAHA TET Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for those who want to teach Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both papers. Given below is the complete MAHA TET exam pattern 2025 for both papers.

The MAHA TET 2025 exam pattern highlights important details of the exam including total number of sections, marking scheme, medium of question paper and total number of questions. Candidates should go through the exam pattern to know the overall structure of the exam.

Q:   How many papers are there in MAHA TET exam?
A: 

The MAHA TET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. In each paper, candidates are asked 150 objective-type multiple choice questions. Each question is of one mark.

Q:   Is there negative marking in MAHA TET exam?
A: 

There is no negative marking in the MAHA TET. Candidates are given zero marks for wrong answers. The MAHA TET exam contains 150 questions in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 and each question carries 1 mark.

Nature and Level of Questions in MAHA TET Paper 1

  • In the Child Psychology and Pedagogy section, questions are related to the educational psychology and teaching-learning process of students in the age group of 6-11 years. The section also includes questions on children with special needs, their characteristics, school interaction and the characteristics of a good teacher. To prepare for this section, candidates can refer to the current syllabus of the teacher diploma.  
  • In Language-I, candidates have the option to choose from English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Telugu, Sindhi and Kannada
  • In Language-II, candidates have the option to choose from English and Marathi
  • Questions in the Mathematics section are aimed to test candidates’ knowledge of basic principles of mathematics, logic and problem solving
  • Questions in the Environmental Studies section are related to topics such as History, Civics, Geography, General Science and Environment

  • In Language-II, candidates have the option to choose from English and Marathi
