Step 1: Fill UPTET application form
As the first step, candidates need to fill out the UPTET Application Form in online mode on the official website of the exam. UPTET application fee for one or two papers is as under:

Step 2: Download UPTET admit card
UPTET admit card is typically released two weeks before the exam. Candidates can download the UPTET Admit Card from the official website of the exam by using details such as registration number and password.
Step 3: Appear for the UPTET exam
UPTET exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper-based test. The exam is conducted for two papers. Candidates can appear for one or both papers depending on the classes that they plan to teach. UPTET Paper 1 is held for Classes 1-5 and UPTET Paper 2 is held for Classes 6-8.
Step 4: Check the UPTET answer key
UPTET answer key is released soon after the exam is conducted. Candidates can check the answer key to have the correct estimate of the score that they can score in the exam.
Step 5: Check UPTET result
UPTET result is announced on the official website of the exam a few weeks after the paper is conducted. Candidates can check the UPTET result by using their registration number and password. Candidates who score at least 60 per cent aggregate will be declared as UPTET qualified.
Step 6: Get UPTET eligibility certificate
All the qualifying candidates will be issued a UPTET eligibility certificate a few weeks after the declaration of the result. Thereafter, candidates can start applying for teaching jobs in different government schools in Uttar Pradesh.

UP TET Age limit for Paper 1 & Paper 2
Candidates should have attained a minimum of 18 years of age in order to be eligible to apply for the UPTET exam. There is no upper age limit in the UPTET exam.

UPTET Paper 1 Educational Qualification (Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility conditions mentioned below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 1:
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)
UPTET Paper 2 Educational Qualification (Upper Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility criteria given below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 2:
- Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd
- Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one-year BEd
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BA/ BScEd/ BAEd/ BScEd
