UPTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to apply for UPTET 2025 exam need to fulfil the eligibility criteria. The UPTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 have been given below:
UP TET Age limit for Paper 1 & Paper 2
There is no upper limit age for UPTET. Candidates who fulfil the educational qualification for UPTET can apply for the teacher eligibility test.
UP TET Educational Qualification for Paper 1 & Paper 2

UPTET Paper 1 Educational Qualification (Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility conditions mentioned below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 1:
Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
Or,
Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
Or,
Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
Or,
Graduation and passed/ appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
Or,
Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)

UPTET Paper 2 Educational Qualification (Upper Primary Teacher)
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the eligibility criteria given below in terms of educational qualification in order to appear for the UPTET Paper 2:
Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
Or,
Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd
Or,
Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one-year BEd
Or,
Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd
Or,
Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BA/ BScEd/ BAEd/ BScEd

UPTET Exam Events 2025
Have a look at the important UPTET 2025 exam events below.
- UPTET notification: The UPTET notification will be released soon on the official website of the exam. The notification will be released as a PDF file containing the important details of the exam such as the application process, eligibility criteria, important dates and others.
- UPTET application form: The UPTET application form will be released after the issue of notification. The UPTET application 2025 will be invited in online mode from the eligible candidates.
- UPTET admit card: The UPTET admit card will be released around ten days prior to the examination. Candidates need to download the admit card and carry it to the exam centre.
- UPTET exam: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2025 exam will be held in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The first shift will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm for Paper 1 and the second shift will be from 2:30 to 5:00 pm for Paper 2.
- UPTET answer key: The UPTET answer key will be released on the official website just after the conduct of the exam. Candidates will be required to raise objections against the answer key.
- UPTET result: The UPTET result will be declared after the completion of the assessment process. The UPTET result will be released as a scorecard containing the marks obtained by candidates in the exam.
UPTET Selection Process 2025
The selection process for UPTET 2025 has been given below for the candidates willing to appear for the UPTET exam:
- The UPTET exam is taken for two papers - paper 1 and paper 2. The paper 1 exam is taken to determine the eligibility of candidates to teach in primary schools and the paper 2 exam is taken to determine the eligibility of candidates to teach in upper primary schools of Uttar Pradesh.
- To qualify for the UPTET 2025 exam, candidates need to secure 60 per cent marks in the general category. The candidates in other categories have to secure at least 55 per cent to qualify for the UPTET exam
- The candidate who will qualify for the UPTET exam will be awarded the UPTET certificate by the UPBEB. The certificate for UPTET is valid for a lifetime after the new guidelines of NCTE. Earlier, the certificate was valid for 5 years.

UPTET 2025 Teacher Salary
The candidates who will be recruited as primary or upper primary teachers in UP government board schools will be getting salaries based on the structure fixed by the UP government. The structure for the primary and upper primary teachers has been given below:
- Primary teachers get grade pay between INR 4200. The candidates will get approx INR 37000 as in-hand salary
- Upper Primary Teachers get grade pay between INR 4600. The candidates who will be recruited as upper primary teachers will get approx INR 40,000 to 45,000 as in-hand salary
