Yes, for Bachelors, German Language is very important. Most free public universities teach in German only. You should clear at least B1 or B2 Level exams (Goethe/Telc) in India before going, otherwise you will struggle.

For Bachelor's degrees, yes you usually need C1 level German. For Master's degrees, no many public universities offer courses 100% in English. Learning basic German (A1/A2) is highly recommended for daily life (shopping, making friends).

Yes German langauge is very helpful. Even if your course is in English, you need German language for daily life and to find part-time jobs or internships. Most companies prefer candidates who speak at least B1 level German for full-time roles.
