Intellectually enriching college with excellent faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: For B.A. English Hons at Miranda House, not everyone sits for placements, as many go for Master's/UPSC. Out of those who do, around 20–25 percent get placed through campus (overall college placement is 80–82 percent). Packages in 2024–25. The highest is around 19–24 LPA. The average is 7–8 LPA. The lowest is around 4.5 LPA. Top recruiters are McKinsey, EY, Deloitte, DE Shaw, TCS, Salesforce, and Lenskart. About 70 percent of students get internships from the placement cell in companies like Microsoft, Wayspire, Lernx, Aaj Tak, and government/Ministry internships. Top roles are Analyst, Associate, Consultant, Content Strategist/HR, and Research roles.
Infrastructure: For B.A. English Hons, classrooms have smart boards and projectors. The campus is Wi-Fi-enabled. We have computer and language labs. There is also a huge air-conditioned library with JSTOR and NLIST access. The hostel is limited and merit-based. It is twin-sharing, with attached washrooms and 24/7 facilities. Mess and canteen food is hygienic and affordable. Four meals are provided daily. A health centre and a doctor on campus provide medical help. Sports facilities include a big ground. The campus has basketball, tennis, and badminton courts. There is also a gym, along with NCC and NSS.
Faculty: Teachers for B.A. English Hons at Miranda House are highly qualified Ph.D. holders from JNU/DU and very supportive. Teaching is interactive, with discussions and critical analysis. The curriculum under NEP covers British, Indian, American, and World literature, plus writing skills, building strong communication and analytical skills for careers in content, publishing, law, and UPSC. Exams are moderately difficult. It requires conceptual clarity but is manageable with regular study and previous-year questions.

Good faculty, placements, and infrastructure. Facilities may need improvement.
Placements: I heard the placement cell of my college is doing rather well. Though students mostly from economics background are prioritize for placements. In my course, placements are given in news companies ( for journalism or related to writing). I personally don't know how many students got placements and where exactly, though.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course is basic. We have access to Wi-Fi and the library, as well as all the classrooms except Science labs. However, only some classrooms have AC. I haven't personally visited the hostel but it has all the necessary facilities available. The food in the canteen varies for everybody. However, I hope they increase the items for a proper meal. The medical facilities are quite good. I visited there once and they took good care of me. I heard we can borrow sports equipment from the sports department to play for example, badminton but they don't lend it to us.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. The teachers are qualified enough. This course is relevant if you have to pursue a job as a translator, professor, journalist, author, and many more. The level of semester exams is from medium to high. The pass percentage is approximately 85 to 90 percent.
Other: I like books and wanted to pursue it in that direction. I think my course is quite knowledgeable and interesting. The campus is good. We have many departments, they all have their own fests and activities for every student, leading to greater connection among students. Many scholarship programmes are also available. The campus is also connected to the metro, so it has good connectivity.

I love the faculty and crowd.
Placements: Most of the students in English Honours prefer to pursue higher studies rather than opting for placements. However, some companies like Wipro, Uniqlo, etc. do consider students for placements, contributing to about a 75%–80% placement rate. Top roles include HR Associate, Journalism, Project Manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Labs and the library are well maintained. However, the Wi-Fi issue continues to persist. Classrooms are great, except that some of them do not have ACs. Canteen food is very good and quite affordable. Medical and sports facilities are fine too. The quality of the hostel mess food tends to fluctuate, though.
Faculty: Professors are great. They are well dedicated to their teaching and create an engaging and inclusive environment. The course curriculum is overall relevant, though some modifications are required. Semester exams are moderate. Most people do pass the exams.
Other: I have a keen interest in literature. Best thing about my course is that it gives me a platform. My perspective is broadened. I learn a lot of new things each day. Fests, events, and campus crowd are vivid & full of energy.

Miranda House means students have to be on their toes always.
Placements: From customer support to content and publications, almost every industry today needs English (Hons) students. So, this is the prime reason why I chose this course. I particularly chose Miranda House because, from IT firms to media houses, everyone has joined hands with our college for placements. Our department students are placed well. Salaries offered specifically to our branch students are in the range of 4–5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Miranda House certainly has the best infrastructure. The two-floor library can be termed the best by some. For me, the lawns of our college are the best. For sports enthusiasts, courts, be it basketball or tennis, can be the best. In short, our infrastructure just can't disappoint anyone, as it has all the best facilities in place. Even hostel students praise the kind of hostel and facilities that are provided at our college hostels.
Faculty: Luckily, most professors are from DU, so they know the culture and how it is taught in DU. Their experience helps us score well in exams too. Their teaching methodology may be a little old-school, but the way they teach ensures that students' concepts are clear and that we are left with no doubts.
Other: Mostly, the English language is used on our campus. All students here come from academically rich backgrounds.

A college worth experiencing.
Placements: The placements are pretty decent at Miranda House, as the placement cell actively reaches out to various companies during the placement season and during fests too to ensure their interest in the institution. The highest package offered in Eng Hons is 8.2 LPA. The average is 4 LPA-5 LPA. Miranda House has introduced a compulsory internship programme for all the students which means none will be left behind.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is 10/10 when it comes to Miranda House. It has the most vast library possible, equipped with machines for the blind and specially-abled. The whole campus is inclusive when it comes to CWSN. The Wi-Fi is great, and classrooms are ventilated and clean at all times. The canteen and mess food is also good. Sports and games are actively encouraged on campus.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and readily available for any help. The curriculum is in accordance with the NEP and serves in the best interest of the students. The semester-end exams are mediocre, not very tough, which will put immense pressure and not be a cakewalk either.

Miranda House: A dream life.
Placements: 80-85 percent of students got placed in my course and top recruiters include Uniqlo, Deloitte, etc. The package depends on person to person. It all depends upon your skills and how you communicate. Students of my college have been placed in the highest positions like manager, campus ambassador, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing, every floor has almost 2 Wi-Fi connections. The mess and canteen food is amazing, hostel accommodation is also many. Classrooms are big and spacious and also have smart boards. Hostel admission is quite difficult but it gives a good sense of exposure.
Faculty: Teachers are perfectly qualified in their designated subjects. My course helps in preparing a student for many government and private jobs. Semesters are not so difficult if you're prepared well. Theory subject courses easily have CGPA scores up to 7.5-8 and practical subjects have CGPA scores between 8-9 easily.
Other: I chose my course because I have a deep interest in this field. The course offers many things but I think it is way too hectic than it actually should be. Scholarships are assured to students with many benefits. Fests give good exposure to the DU lifestyle.

A brief about of the college.
Placements: As we know, the placement rate at DU is very low. In my course, we get to work with many sprint media houses like Hindustan Times, Indian Express, etc. As interns. If you're lucky and you get your degree with flying colors, you might even be recruited by them.
Infrastructure: To be very honest, facilities are not that good. I understand that in DU, you can’t expect private university infrastructure, but even then. It’s not great. The Wi-Fi is unreliable, most areas don't have good connectivity. The water here is not suitable. It has a weird taste, and I fell sick for a week after consuming college RO water. The fans don’t make much of a difference. It’s still very hot in the classrooms.
Faculty: Professors are no doubt really good and experienced. They are very kind and approachable. The exam level each semester isn’t very hard. It just requires in-depth study, which we do in our lectures. The passing is a 5 SGPA each semester. The course is highly relevant if you want to do a Master's in the same field. The professors here actually go out of their way to help students with their courses.
Other: Students coming from a co-ed environment might take some time to adjust. But once you find your people here, you'll love the place and make a lot of memories. Try to join as many societies as you want, but make sure it doesn’t hamper your studies. Pro tip: Be bold, Be vocal. If something feels wrong or you just don’t like it, speak up. Whether it's about seniors, faculty, or anything else that bothers you. Raise your voice against it.

Miranda House is a dream of many students.
Placements: I have not tried to avail the placement opportunities in Miranda House. However, there was a high-functioning placement cell on the campus. A lot of programs are organised by the cell. Also, as a student, I used to receive regular mails on my college Email ID. According to the college website, our college's recent recruiters include some well-renowned names from the market like Accenture, Dell Technologies, McKinsey, DE Shaw, Wipro, Byju's, TresVista, Nation with NAMO, etc.
Infrastructure: Miranda House has a small and compact campus. It is one of the prettiest colleges in Delhi University. The college used to have high-functioning Wi-Fi. Classrooms also have good infrastructure with an amazing library. As an Arts student, I have never used a lab, but I have heard good things about the facilities in science. However, I have encountered complaints regarding the issues with ramps, and the problems in the accessibility for the PWD students. I was not a resident at the college hostel. But, Miranda House hostel provides a lot of facilities. Mess food is good and nutritious. The canteen also has food at reasonable rates. There are no any official facilities for sports and games. It also has medical facilities.
Faculty: Miranda House has helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable professors. Most of them used to provide quality lectures and assignments to facilitate the UG students for higher education. As a DU-affiliated college, Miranda House followed a Delhi University course curriculum. The course curriculum was relevant for an Indian English department. Semester exams are conducted by the university. The pass CGPA was more than 4.0.
Other: I was passionate about English literature, and I got the chance to interact with eminent and efficient professors. However, it was not easy for me to mingle with the crowd there. Like most of the Indian universities, it has an elitist crowd.

With this percentage, you can't get admission in Miranda house. But if you belong to ST category then you will get admission in Miranda house and you can pursue English (H).

Hey, hope you have already seen the criteria for admission in Miranda House. All I want to suggest is that there are subsequent cut-off marks list please check them on regular basis and do apply in the stream you want to gain admission.

If you include Physical Education in your best of 4, you'll have to deduct 2.5% from your best 4 after which your best of 4 would be 95.5%. It would be difficult to get admission in English hons in Miranda House with that percentage in general category.
