List of NIMCET 2025 Participating Institutes: Candidates can refer to the list of participating institutes for 2025 below. There are an expected total of eleven participating colleges for NIMCET 2025, in which candidates will be allotted seats based on their scores or marks secured in the NIMCET 2025 exam. NIMCET is an entrance exam that enables candidates to apply for admission to the Master's program in Computer Applications.

In the NIMCET 2025 participating institutes, a total of 1033 seats are expected to be available for admission. Every year, one of these participating institutes of NIMCET 2025 conducts the entrance exam and releases a merit cum seat allotment list. Q:   How many NITs will participate in NIMCET?
A:

The NIMCET is a Common Entrance National Level Test that is conducted by 11 NITs and 2 IITs for admission into their MCA programme. The MCA programme is offered by the following NITs and IIITs -

  2. NIT Allahabad
  3. NIT Bhopal
  4. NIT Delhi
  5. NIT Jamshedpur
  6. NIT Kurukshetra
  7. NIT Meghalaya
  8. NIT Patna
  9. NIT Raipur
  10. NIT Tiruchirappalli
  11. NIT Warangal
  12. IIIT Bhopal
  13. IIIT Vadodara.

Admission into the MCA programme in the above-mentioned NITs will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET only.

Q:   Which colleges are participating in NIMCET?
A:

The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is a national-level test conducted by NITs for admission to their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes. The admission to the MCA programme at the 11 NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal and two Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) – IIIT Bhopal and IIIT Vadodara will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET.

NIMCET 2025: Know about the Counselling Process

Those candidates who qualify for the entrance exam will be eligible to take part in the NIMCET 2025 counselling process and seat allotment process. There will be various rounds, and the seat allotment result will be released after each round. Candidates need to report directly to the institutes on the specified date and time. The counselling will be conducted for candidates who are required to fill in their choices of NITs online.

NIMCET 2025: Steps To Provide College Choices 

After the declaration of the NIMCET 2025 result, qualifying candidates will have the opportunity to participate in the admission process at their preferred and selected college. Check below some of the steps that a candidate should keep in mind while making college choices for NIMCET 2025.

  • Students who clear the qualifying criteria will be awarded a rank card. 
  • Candidates can check their rank card after the NIMCET 2025 result is declared.
  • Candidates will be provided with an email from the NIMCET 2025 conducting authority, which will contain a link. From this link, candidates can download the NIMCET rank card in PDF format.
  • Emails also consist of a new password and username for the Choice Filling website.
  • Candidates are required to log in and change their provided username and password according to their preferences.
  • Now, candidates need to fill in the choices of the participating institutes in order of their preferences.
  • Here, candidates can also change or modify the order of their choices at various times before final locking.
  • It is essential to note that candidates will not be able to access the choice page after they have locked their college selections.

No. You cannot manually convert CGPA to percentage or vice-versa to qualify. If your university uses a 10-point scale, a 6.5 CGPA is the minimum requirement for General/OBC candidates.

Here is how you can determine if your NIMCET score is good -

Score Possible Rank What This Means 
360+Top 100Excellent: You can likely pick any top NIT you want, like the popular ones in Trichy or Warangal.
300 - 359101 - 500Very Good: You have a high chance of getting into a strong NIT.
240 - 299501 - 1500Good Goal: You can likely secure a spot in a mid-tier NIT.
Below 120Low ChancesDifficult: Getting a seat at any NIT is very unlikely with this score.

The NIMCET application edit window usually opens 2-3 days after the last day of application. Historically, it opens for 2 days within which applicants can make any edits in their application if required. Please note that no requests in this regard shall be entertained thereafter.

The mathematics section of NIMCET is the most important section and will include 50 Questions. Topics to cover in the mathematics section of NIMCET exam include-
