The Indian Institute of Communication offers admissions to its various PG and PG Diploma courses based on the aspirants’ performance in the CUET-PG. Also, for certain regional language PG Diploma in Journalism courses, the institute conducts an independent IIMC entrance exam. IIMC aspirants must check the IIMC eligibility criteria before applying for CUET-PG.

IIMC Entrance Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Students must fulfill the eligibility criteria of IIMC for admission to offered courses. Check here to know the requirements based on qualification, age and nationality.
IIMC Eligibility Criteria - Academic Qualification
The candidates must possess the following educational qualifications for admission to IIMC courses.
MA Courses: Indian nationals must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institute. They must have obtained at least 55% marks in their bachelor's final exams.
PG Diploma: Graduates from any discipline can apply for the entrance exam.
Note -
- Students who are appearing for their finals can also apply. But, they have to give relevant documents later. Admission of such candidates will be confirmed only if they at least provide their Provisional mark sheet/ Certificate in original from their college/ university by September 30, 2026.
- IIMC will extend the last date to submit above certificate only in genuine cases.
- Aspirants looking for IIMC Admissions through CUET-PG must appear for the entrance test.

IIMC Eligibility Criteria - Nationality
Aspirants must note the following points on nationality while applying for IIMC admissions.
- According to the eligibility criteria set by IIMC, all Indian nationals can apply for admission to IIMC given that they are the right age.
- NRIs and NRI-sponsored candidates must apply separately.
- Each course at IIMC reserves 5 seats for NRI and NRI-sponsored applicants.
IIMC Reservation Criteria 2026
Some percentage of the total IIMC seats are reserved for reserved category candidates. This percentage for different categories is mentioned in the table below.

The candidates have to pay the requisite examination fee. Application Fee (for up to three Test papers) for General candidates is INR 1400, for OBC-NCL/GenEWS is INR 1200, for SC/ST/Third Gender is INR 1100 and PwBD is INR 1000. The fee can be submitted only online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator.
If candidates lose the admit card of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) entrance exam they can download it again from the official website 1-2 days before the exam. However, it is advised to them to save the PDF of the admit card save in laptop or cloud drive so that they can retrieve it whenever they lose the printed admit card.
IIMC 2026 Application Process
For 2026-27 admission cycle, the National Testing Agency is expected to open the CUET PG registration window in January 2026. Aspiring IIMC students must fill the CUET-PG application form before last date and appear for the exam. The procedure to apply for CUET-PG is explained below.
- Register on NTA’s CUET-PG portal by providing personal and contact details. An application number and a password will be generated during this step.
- Log in to the portal again and go on to fill the application form by providing details like educational details, choices of paper and exam centres, uploading images of signature and photograph, etc.
- Pay the application fee via credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. Once you’re done, an application confirmation page will be generated that you can download for future reference.

Note - For every additional test paper, general category students will be charged INR 700 extra, Gen-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, Third Gender and PwD applicants will be charged INR 600 extra, and international students will be charged INR 3500 extra.

Yes, Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers admission through CUET PG in some of the postgraduate Diploma programmes. Candidates seeking admission in such programmes are required to fill CUET PG application form and appear in CUET PG exam. Shortlisted candidates are called for counseling as per the marks obtained in CUET PG. A cut off for such courses is released and the candidates are given admission accordingly.
Candidates need to appear for the CUET PG exam to get admission in some of the PG Diploma courses offered at Indian Institute of Mass Communication. - Only those candidates who pass the CUET-PG mass communication paper will undergo IIMC counselling.
- Every candidate is allowed to float up (ask for upgradation) to three lists, after which confirming the seats (or freezing them) is mandatory.
- Students also have to produce their high school certificates as proof of age and their graduation certificates during counselling or within the stipulated time if unavailable during counselling.
- The same applies to category certificates for reserved category candidates.

To fill the CUET PG application form for courses offered at IIMC candidates will have to visit the official website of the NTA and click on the 'Registration For CUET (PG)' link.
