I would like to suggest that every student should focus on his/her own personal development. Work on your skills, abide by all the regulations and set an example of being an asset for your institution and the industry you are stepping into.

I would like to suggest that every student should focus on his/her own personal development. Work on your skills, abide by all the regulations and set an example of being an asset for your institution and the industry you are stepping into.

Lovely Professional University has several conditions and eligibility criteria to sort and offer the best to the visiting companies.

Here are some conditions and eligibility criteria for the placements at LPU:

  1. Registered student: The student must be registered for placements. Students who are willing to opt for on-campus placement, they have to get themselves registered to the university’s placement services. The minimum CGPA required is 5 to get registered.
  1. Terms and conditions: The registered student must abide by all the terms and conditions of the policy or else the candidate will initially get warned, then fined and if mistakes are repeated then debarred from the university’s placement services. Debarred students are not eligible to sit for the placements.
  1. Debarment conditions: A student can get debarred in two ways- temporary and permanent. Temporary debarment is for the registered students with more than or equal to 5.5 CGPA who are able to maintain their CGPA. Once the optimum score is recovered then again the student will be eligible to sit for the placements. On the other hand, permanent debarment occurs if any disciplinary issue arises. Once a student is permanently debarred then he or she cannot sit for the placements from the university under any circumstances or situation.
  1. Attendance: Overall 75 percent attendance is compulsory in academics. Apart from that, more important is the attendance in Placement Enhancement Program (PEP) classes, which are specially conducted by the university’s placement cell. Attending every interview or sitting for the placements is compulsory for every non-placed student. Every student will be given a few chances. If all the chances are gone and they still do not appear then they will be debarred.
  1. Formals: LPU takes personal grooming very seriously. Every student has to appear properly dressed in formals for the interviews. If not appropriately dressed or groomed then the student may not get allowed to sit for the selection process.

Formally dressed includes:

  • University uniform with logo is a must, without uniform, the student won’t be allowed to sit for the drive for the day and maybe fined for the same.
  • Grooming also comes under formals; guys should have short hair and preferably, clean shaved.
  • Students from the Sikh religion must wear a black turban and shall bear a properly groomed beard.
  • Girls have to tie their hair neatly and use decent makeup followed by minimum jewelry.
  • The overall look should be decent and highly presentable in a professional way.
  1. Placement kit: When appearing for any interview the student must carry an organised placement kit. The necessities in the kit must include:
  • Five copies of their latest resume duly vetted by their Training and Placement Coordinator.
  • Five passport-size photographs with light background (both ears visible).
  • All relevant testimonials/certificates in original (and two photocopies of each)
  • Government-issued photo-ID proof (original and a photocopy)
  • A copy of the project report(s)/training/ certifications and reports thereof undertaken by the student during the professional academic programme.
  • Executive folder to carry all documents and notepad, pen/pencil.

All the documents should be in soft copy format in the candidate’s email id or laptop.

After discussing the university’s eligibility criteria for placements, I would like to suggest that every student should focus on his/her own personal development. Work on your skills, abide by all the regulations and set an example of being an asset for your institution and the industry you are stepping into.

Both are solid choices, but honestly, if I had to lean somewhere, I'd go with B.Tech CSE from LPU. Here's why a B.Tech degree simply carries more weight in the industry. Whether you're sitting for campus placements, applying abroad, or eyeing core tech roles, a B.Tech from LPU opens doors that a BCA
