Factors Determining Karnataka PGCET 2026 Cutoff

Several variables influence the fluctuation of Karnataka PGCET MBA cutoff ranks each year:

  • Number of test-takers: Higher participation typically leads to more competitive (lower) cutoff ranks.
  • Difficulty level of the exam: A more difficult paper may result in higher cutoff ranks as overall scores drop.
  • Seat Matrix: Any changes in the number of seats available across participating institutes directly impact the last ranks.
  • Preference Trends: The shift in candidate preference toward specific specialisations like Business Analytics or Digital Marketing can lower cutoffs for those specific programs.

How to Analyse Karnataka PGCET Cutoff?

KEA releases Karnataka PGCET cutoff ranks for all categories in a common PDF. Categories for admissions via Karnataka PGCET exam include GM, SCG, STG, 1G, 2AG, etc. While General Merit (GM) ranks are the most competitive, other categories like SCG (Scheduled Caste General) and STG (Scheduled Tribe General) have less competitive cutoff ranks. Furthermore, candidates with Karnataka domicile can also benefit from specific reservation quotas that are not available to All India candidates. Those without the domicile are eligible for the Management quota seats.

Aspirants should aim for a Karnataka PGCET rank within the top 5,000 to have a wide selection of reputable colleges.

Q:   Will KEA release Karnataka PGCET cutoff scores for admission?
A:

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) releases the Karnataka PGCET cutoff ranks or Karnataka PGCET last ranks along with the seat allotment results. Candidates can find the PDF file for Karnataka PGCET cutoff ranks available on the official website. The cutoff score depicts the last ranks at which the allotment process has been closed. Whereas the Karnataka PGCET seat allotment mentions allotment status of each candidate individually inside the login dashboard.

Q:   Am I eligible to apply for Karnataka PGCET MBA if I have less than 50 percent in my Bachelors degree?
A:

Unreserved category candidate is not eligible to apply for the Karnataka PGCET MBA course if they have less than 50 per cent marks in their bachelor's degree. Minimum percentage is 45 per cent for reserved categories.

Q:   Will KEA release Karnataka PGCET cutoffs along with the results?
A:

Karnataka Examinations Authority does not release the PGCET cutoff scores/ranks along with the declaration of the results. Candidates find the Karnataka PGCET cutoff ranks during the counselling process. KEA releases separate PDF files for Karnataka PGCET MBA and MCA cutoff along with the seat allotment details. The cutoff PDF mentions the last ranks at which the Karnataka PGCET participating college closed the allotment round.
