The NEET SS 2025 application form is expected to be released by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in the second week of October 2025. The last date of the NEET SS 2025 application process is likely to be scheduled for the fourth week of October 2025. NBE will provide the NEET SS 2025 application edit/correction window after the conclusion of the application process.

NEET SS 2025 date was announced by NBEMS on August 4, 2025. The NEET SS 2025 exam will be conducted on November 7 and November 8, 2025. The NEET SS 2025 application process comprises registration, filling in details in the application form, uploading images in the right specifications as prescribed by NBE, paying the application fee, and taking out a printout of the confirmation page.

What to Keep Ready Before Filling the NEET SS Application Form 2025?

The following documents had to be uploaded while filling the NEET SS 2025 application form.

  • Valid passport-sized photograph

NEET SS 2025 Application Form: Who Can Apply?

Before you decide to fill the application form for NEET SS 2025, check the eligibility criteria prescribed by the NBE. The eligibility factors for this year will be released along with the NEET SS 2025 notification and information brochure. The NEET SS 2025 eligibility criteria will be the same as last year. The NEET SS eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Candidate must possess a postgraduate degree (MD/ MS/ DNB/ Equivalent) from a recognised institution
  • Must complete their postgraduate degree on or before April 30, 2026

Q:   Which documents or files have to be uploaded while filling the NEET SS application form?
A: 

While filling the NEET SS application form, candidates had to upload the following documents or files:

  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Thumb impression

The photograph to be uploaded is categorised in two ways, uploading an existing passport-size photograph and taking a realtime photograph through webcamera and uploading it. The format and dimension for each of these documents have been instructed by NBE. Candidates must ensure that they upload the documents in the given format only, otherwise their NEET SS applications are not accepted. 

Q:   What should be the format and resolution for uploading signature and thumb impression at the NEET SS application form?
A: 

While filling the NEET SS application form, candidates will have to upload their scanned signature and thumb impression. The detailed instructions regarding uploading these documents are as follows:

  • The signature has to be done on a white page without any lines in blue/back ballpoint pen within a box
  • The box size should be 3.5 x 1.5 cm (width x height)
  • The scanner has to be set to 200 dpi
  • The size of the image should not be more than 80 KB
  • The format of the should be .jpg or .jpeg.

Instructions to upload thumb impression are given below:

  • A box of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm (width & height) has to be drawn wherein the thumb impression has to be taken
  • A fresh blue/black coloured ink pad has to be used
  • The thumb should be completely clean and dry
  • After pressing the left thumb on the ink pad it has to be put horizontally on the paper
  • The scanner has to be set to 200 dpi
  • The size of the image should not be more than 80 KB
  • The format of the should be .jpg or .jpeg.

How to Fill the NEET SS 2025 Application Form?

The application form for NEET SS 2025 has to be filled in four steps: registration, completing the application form, uploading the images and submitting the application fee. All these steps are elaborated below for your convenience.

Step 1: Registration

  • Go to the official website of nbe.edu.in
  • Select "NEET-SS"
  • Click "New Registration", under the links section or directly enter the link
  • To complete the registration process, enter
    • Name
    • Date of birth
    • Gender
    • Nationality
    • Mobile number
    • Email Id
  • Submit the NEET SS registration form
  • A confirmation message with the User ID and password will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number

Step 2: Completing the application form

  • Using the credentials sent to the registered email ID and mobile number, log in to access the NEET SS 2025 application form
  • Now click on "Go to application form"
  • Personal details
    • Most of the details in this section will be pre-filled from the registration form
    • Enter mother’s name, father’s name, disability (if any), Identification details and address for communication
  • Qualification details
    • Enter UG and PG qualification details along with the SMC/ MCI registration details
  • Select the preferred test centre

Step 3: Uploading the images

  • Upload the scanned copies of the photograph, signature and thumb impression in the space provided
  • Resize the images if they are too large before uploading them

Step 4: Submitting the application fee

  • The application fee has to be paid online
  • Candidate can use a credit card/ debit card/ net banking to pay the fee
  • NEET SS 2025 application fee will be INR 3,500, irrespective of the category of the candidate, the same as last year.

Q:   What is the NEET SS application fee?
A: 

The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group. 

Q:   What is the process to apply for NEET SS?
A: 

The NEET SS application process is completely online. The first step is to register, followed by filling up the application form. The step by step process to register and application for NEET SS is given below:

  • Visit the official website of NEET SS or NBE
  • Click on the Registration tab
  • Enter the mandatory details
  • Select password
  • Enter the OTP
  • Once the username and password is generated, candidates have to login to complete the application process
  • Enter the mandatory details regarding personal details, academic details, uploading photographs and payment of the application fee.

How to Make Corrections in NEET SS 2025 Application Form

Only those candidates who will submit the NEET SS application form 2025 by paying the application fee will be able to make changes or edit the information or files submitted on the NEET SS 2025 application form. There will be two stages of the NEET SS 2025 correction window. The first or primary NEET SS 2025 application correction window will be tentatively open in October 2025. The second and the final edit window will be selective, only to edit the deficient images, such as photograph, signature and thumb impression. 

How to Make NEET SS 2025 Application Form Corrections

Candidates have to follow the steps given below to edit or correct the NEET SS application form:

  • Visit the NEET SS official website
  • Click on the Login tab
  • Enter the User ID and password, captcha and click on Login
  • Click on the tab indicating Application Form Edit
  • Make the necessary changes
  • Click on Save/Submit.

NEET SS 2025 Application Correction Uneditable Fields

The following fields or information are not editable on the NEET SS application form 2025. 

  • Name
  • Test City
  • Nationality
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID

NBE has stated, "Information can be edited any number of times before submitting the application during the edit window. The last submitted information will be saved in records. Failure to submit images as per guidelines and/or failure to rectify the images shall invite rejection of the application."

Q:   What are the different types of NEET SS application correction window?

Q:   Can I fill the NEET SS application form in mobile phone?
A: 

All those who wish to apply for NEET SS 2025 are advised to use a computer for filling the application form. The application form is not compatible with mobile phones and candidates were not able to fill all the details in the form if they try to fill it on mobile phones. Moreover, one of the steps in NEET SS 2025 application form is to click a realtime photo on the webcamera. Filling the application form through mobile phone will hamper this process as uploading selfies is not allowed. Hence, candidates must use a computer or a laptop to fill and submit the NEET SS application form.

Q:   How to be sure if the NEET SS application form has been submitted or not?
A: 

Once the NEET SS application form is submitted, candidates will be sent a confirmation email and an SMS notification confirming the successful completion of the application process. In case candidates submit the NEET SS application form but do not get any confirmation, they are advised to contact NBE to seek the application status. In case they cannot reach out to the NBE officials, they should check whether the NEET SS application fee amount has been deducted on not. Next, they must login to the NEET SS website with their registration credentials and check the status. 

Q:   Does NBE extend or reopen the NEET SS application window?
A: 

In general, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the exam conducting body does not extend on reopen the NEET SS application window. The NEET SS 2024 application dates were announced by NBE on February 4. The application window was scheduled from February 4 to February 24, 2025. Like previous years, NBE has not extended the last date of NEET SS 2024 application process. 

Q:   Is Aadhaar card mandatory for NEET SS application process?
A: 

No, it is not mandatory to enter Aadhaar number or other details regarding the Aadhaar card while filling the NEET SS application process. It is one of the accepted identity cards for candidates at the NEET SS exam centres, but their Aadhaar card is not required while filling up the online application form for NEET SS. The NEET SS 2025 application process is yet to begin and NBE might make Aadhaar verification mandatory this year onwards.   

Q:   How many exam city preferences can I enter in the NEET SS application form?
A: 

In the NEET SS application form, candidates have to select the exam city in a first come first serve basis. Although specific number of cities is not mentioned, it is estimated that candidates will be able to choose up to two cities for the NEET SS exam. Last year, NEET SS was conducted in 36 cities across India. Candidates must choose the city as per their preference. Last year, the total number of exam cities was 55, which has been reduced this year. 

Q:   What is the duration of the NEET SS application window?
A: 

The duration of the NEET SS 2025 application process is expected to be two to three weeks. The exam will be conducted on November 7 and November 8, 2025. Hence, the application process is likely to begin in the second week of September 2025. Even though the NEET SS application dates remain unchanged, based on the student requests or other factors, the exam conducting authorities may decide to extend the last date of application. The application fee has to be paid till the last date to complete the process. Candidates have to complete the application process within the given deadline and not wait for NBE to extend the last date.    

Q:   What is the date for NEET SS 2025 exam?

The NEET SS 2025 exam dates are November 7 and November 8, 2025. The exam will be conducted in two shift on both days, from 9 AM to 11.30 AM and 2 PM to 4.30 PM. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced the dates on August 4, 2025. 

Q:   Does NBE provide correction facility for NEET SS?
A: 

Yes, NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences provides correction facility for NEET SS application form. There are two correction or edit windows provided only for those candidates who submit the application form on time by paying the requisite application fee. The first NEET SS application correction window is for making the basic changes in the application form, in the permitted fields. In the second and the final correction window of NEET SS, candidates are given the opportunity to correct the deficient or incorrect images or files uploaded, such as photograph, signature and thumb impression. Both the NEET SS application correction windows are provided for three days. 

Q:   What is the size and format of the photographs to be uploaded in the NEET SS application form?
A: 

While filling the NEET SS application form, candidates will have to upload two types of photographs, a passport-size photograph and a realtime photograph to be clicked from the webcam of the computer/laptop from where they are filling the form. The specifications and the details are given below.

Uploading passport-size photograph

Following factors have to be kept in mind while filling the NEET SS application form:

  • The photograph should not be less than three months old.
  • The photograph should be colured and clicked against a white background.
  • The image must contain the full face, ears, neck, and shoulders of the entrant in frontal view with a neutral, non-smiling expression and with eyes open and directed at the camera. No additional people or object should be clicked with the photograph.
  • The size of the image should be less than 80 KB and the format should be .jpg or .jpeg.

Clicking realtime photograph

While clicking the realtime photograph, candidates have to follow the following instructions:

  • The photograph should be taken against a white background
  • 80 per cent of the candidates face should be visible
  • No other object or person should be there in the photograph
  • The dimension of the photograph should be 45 mm (height) x 35 mm (width)
  • The maximum file size should be 80 KB and in .jpg or .jpeg format.
Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for the NEET SS?
A: 

For appearing in NEET SS aspirants require should hold a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) or any equivalent examination. Only those who will complete their postgraduate degree on or before April 30, 2026, will be eligible for NEET SS 2025. He/ she must be registered with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Candidates need to score the minimum cut off percentile to qualify for the exam. The minimum qualifying cut off is 50 percentile. NEET SS 2025 result will be released online for candidates who appeared for the exam. NBE will upload NEET SS result 2025 for 15 super specialities or groups.

Q:   Can I fill the NEET SS application form in offline mode?
A: 

The application process for NEET SS is completely online. Hence, it is not possible or permitted to fill and submit the NEET SS application form in offline mode. Once the NEET SS application form is released, candidates will have to visit the official website of NBEMS and click on the NEET SS section. Upon reaching the exam portal, they have to click on the 'Application Form' tab and read the instructions carefully before starting the registration and application process. The NEET SS application process will be considered complete only after the exam fee is paid. 

Q:   I have forgotten my NEET SS login credentials. What should I do?
A: 

Once the NEET SS registration process is successful, NBE sends the login credentials to the registered email ID of the applicant. Candidates must save this email and refer to this if they forget the login credentials. In case they misplace the email as well, they are advised to click on the Forgot User ID/Password tab and then enter their email address and mobile number. A link will be sent for retreiving the username or password. However, candidates are advised to preserve these crucial information right after the generation of the NEET SS credentials.

Q:   Is there a fee involved for NEET SS application correction?
A: 

No, there is no fee involved for editing the NEET SS application form. Only those candidates who completed the NEET SS application process by paying the requisite application fee are eligible to make changes or avail the edit window for NEET SS. It is important to identify the changes to be done on the NEET SS application form and execute those within the said timelines, otherwise their application will not be considered and they will not be eligible to apper for the exam. 

Q:   How will I come to know if I need to make any correction in the NEET SS application form?
A: 

After submitting the NEET SS application form, candidates are advised to go through the submitted form to check whether all the information entered are correct or not. In case there is a mistake, then you have to make the changes in the first NEET SS edit window. In case of a deficient image or signature or thumb impression, NBE will mail candidates with the details and candidates have to edit the images accordingly.  

Q:   What is the difference between the NEET SS primary correction window and final correction window?
A: 

There are two types of NEET SS application correction window. In the first and primary correction window, and the final correction window. In the first or primary NEET SS correction window, candidates can make corrections or changes in the informtion entered in the application form, except for a few fields. On the other hand, in the NEET SS final correction window, candidates will be able to make corrections in the incorrect or deficient images of photograph, signature and thumb impression. Candidates will not be able to make changes in the images in the primary correction window and vice versa.
