According to the students, the NEET SS 2024 was of tough difficulty level. While some groups such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology questions were easier than last year, some other groups such as Medical Oncology and Critical Care Medicine were tougher than last year.

Q:   Will there be any descriptive questions in the NEET SS exam?

The NEET SS exam does not contain descriptive questions. It is objective in nature. There are 150 multiple-choice questions, MCQs. Every question displays four options and candidates need to select the right one as the answer.

Q:   What is the total number of questions in NEET SS?
A: 

 According to the latest exam pattern of NEET SS, there are 150 multiple-choice questions, from broad speciality and super speciality course. There will be three time-bound sections of 50 minutes each, carrying 50 questions. The question paper is of 600 marks.  The question paper will consist of questions from the General/Basic component of the primary feeder broad specialty subject and from all sub-specialty/systems/component of that primary feeder broad specialty subject. All the 150 questions would be from the Curriculum of the Post Graduate Exit level of the primary feeder broad specialty subject. Candidates will get two-and-a-half hours to attempt the questions. 

NEET SS 2024 Exam Pattern and Question Paper Structure

The NEET SS 2024 exam pattern has been revised, wherein time-bound sections were introduced. Instead of a single section of 150 questions, of 2.5 hours duration, the exam will now have three sections A, B and C, each carrying 50 questions, and of 50 minutes duration.

NEET SS 2024 Question Paper Analysis of Day 1

The overall difficulty level of the exam was between moderate to tough. The candidates found the time-bound sections to be convenient as it provided them ample time to solve the sectional questions.

The questions were on the expected lines and within the syllabus. While detailed group-wise NEET SS 2024 analysis is not available yet, here is an insight into the Oncology group.

In the Oncology group, there were around six questions on Artificial Intelligence usage in medical treatment. There were six questions each on SVC Syndrome and Tumour Lysis Syndrome, eight questions on Febrile Neutropenia, and a few questions on Cisplatin. A few questions were repeated from last year.

NEET SS 2024 Question Paper Analysis of Day 2

According to the NEET SS 2024 test takers who appeared for the second day, the difficulty level of the exam was of tough level of difficulty. Among the groups, Medical, Surgical, Microbiology and Psychiatry were on the tougher lines. The other groups were of moderate level of difficulty. Questions were not repeated unlike NEET SS 2024 Day 1. Most candidates attempted 140 - 145 questions. Most probably NEET SS 2024 result will be declared on or before 30th April 2025.
