IIT Kanpur Hosts Campus Immersion for eMasters Participants

IIT Kanpur eMasters programs: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, through its Department of Economic Sciences, conducted a three-day Campus Immersion Programme for participants of its distinctive eMasters degree programs. These programs offer specialised degrees in Business Finance and Public Policy (BFPP) and Climate Finance and Sustainability (CFS), designed to equip professionals with cutting-edge knowledge in finance, policy, and sustainability.

IIT Kanpur's eMasters Initiative

The eMasters initiative forms a vital component of IIT Kanpur’s ongoing growth and outreach efforts. Tailored for working professionals, these programs offer advanced, industry-relevant knowledge in emerging domains such as data science, cybersecurity, public policy, and financial technology delivered in a flexible, modular online format.

As part of the Campus Immersion Programme, participants had the opportunity to experience the IIT Kanpur campus, engage with faculty members, and gain insights into the institute’s academic depth and dynamic research ecosystem.

The event featured thought-provoking sessions by public policy and sustainability experts, including Dr. Ajay Kumar, former Defence Secretary, who spoke on maritime geopolitical challenges; Dr. Surendrakumar Bagde, DG at the National Centre for Good Governance, who discussed climate-era sustainability practices; and Dr. Kumar Alok, former Chief Secretary of Tripura, who shared insights on sustainable biomass energy from a policy lens.

Participants took part in an open Q&A session, exploring a wide range of topics including research opportunities, faculty engagement, and the future direction of the eMasters programs. The session was enriched by the presence of key faculty members Prof. Vimal Kumar (Faculty-in-charge of Outreach Activities), Prof. Sohini Sahu, Prof. Wasim Ahmad, Prof. Bikramaditya Datta, and Prof. Sanjiv Kumar alongside several Ph.D. scholars, fostering meaningful dialogue and exchange.
