CEED 2026 Result and Admission Process
CEED released draft keys for Part A in the last week of January. Candidates can access and download the draft answer key to report discrepancies, if any, in the draft answer key through the CEED portal within the allotted time. Candidates must always use the Master Question Paper to check the answers.
The CEED 2026 Result will be declared most likely in March 2026 on the CEED official website. No hard copies will be issued to the candidates. Part A marks will be displayed for all candidates who have appeared for the CEED 2026 Exam, and Part B will be displayed only for shortlisted candidates. A CEED Rank will be given to all the candidates.
What's Next After the CEED 2026 Entrance Exam?
The CEED 2026 exam will have two mandatory parts - Part A and Part B. Interestingly, Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A. If the candidate fails to qualify Part A or doesn’t meet the qualifying cut-off, then his or her Part A answer booklet will not be evaluated.
The scorecards of candidates who fails to meet Part A cut-off would only include Part A marks. Part B and Total marks, along with merit rank, will only be issued to those candidates who meet the cut-off.
Formula to determine CEED shortlisting criteria is µ + (σ 2) = δ, where µ and σ are average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part-A of CEED.
µ and σ will be rounded off after first decimal place.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories shall have to fulfill a relaxed cut-off mark. It will be
0.9 for EWS
0.5 for SC/ST
0.5 for PwD
No doubt, 2000 rank is a decent rank in JEE Advanced exam. Candidates securing this much of rank will surely get selection at IIT Hyderabad. However, for top courses like CSE and AI, they need to secure lesser than that. As per IIT Hyderabad JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, the required rank stood between 656 and 9551, wherein, the most sought-after course was BTech in CSE. Candidates can check out below the courses available under 2000 rank at IIT Hyderabad for the General AI quota:
| Course | 2024 |
|---|---|
| B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering | 2105 |
| B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering | 4469 |
| B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering | 5757 |
| B.Tech. in Civil Engineering | 7898 |
| B.Tech. in Engineering Science | 3835 |
| B.Tech. in Engineering Physics | 4932 |

Yes, admission is possible with a rank of 8000, considering the IIT Hyderabad JEE Advanced cutoff 2025 for the General AI category. For this category, the overall closing cutoff ranged from 667 to 10043. Hence, a rank of 8K will make a student eligible for IIT Hyderabad admission, if they belong to the General AI category.
Please note that other categories, rounds, etc., will have different qualifying cutoffs accordingly, and that admission is based on various factors, like total number of seats, difficulty level of exam, etc.
IIT Roorkee is one of the top IITs which offer BTech courses based on JEE Advanced scores. Candidates with various All India categories has applied to get admission at IIT Roorkee for top courses like CSE, IT, and Artificial Intelligence. Among all the categories, the OBC AI category candidates encountered a cutoff range between 236 and 6973. Wherein, the CSE, and DS and AI cutoff stood at 236 and 421. Considering the cutoff data, we should aim a rank of 200 to get easy selection for the aforementioned courses in JEE Advanced exam 2025.
After the CEED Entrance Exam, the CEED results are announced on the official website. Candidates are then required to apply individually to the institutions of their choice using the CEED Score card. Each Institute will have a separate application process, portfolio review, interview rounds, etc. CEED does not conduct any joint counselling for the shortlisted candidates. Note that candidates belonging to reserved categories will be considered for admission under both open and reserved category. So, if you are not included in the merit list for open category, you needn’t worry. You will be considered for admission under your reserved category. That being said the candidate needs to note that the seat alloted in the open category and reserved category may not match, just in case you meet cut-off for both categories.
In that case you need to decide which seat to accept and which seat to decline.
