CEED 2026 is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to M.Des and Ph.D. programmes in top design institutes across India. The exam tests creativity, visual skills, logical reasoning, and design aptitude through two parts—Part A (objective) and Part B (subjective).

CEED Scorecard is available from March 10, 2026 till July 31, 2026. It is available on the CEED website on the Candidate's portal. Email ID and password are required to download the UCEED 2026 Scorecard. It is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.

CEED 2026 Result for M.Des was released on March 04, 2026. The result was released on the website at ceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates are required to log in using their ID and password. 

CEED Cutoff for Part A was released on February 05, 2026 for all the candidates who took the CEED Entrance test on January 18, 2026. No credentials are required to download the CEED cutoff. No cutoff was released for Part B. It was released in the form of Mean and Standard Deviation. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2026) are 39.35 and 16.89.

CEED Draft Answer Key and Answer Key for Part A were out on January 19, 2026. Candidates could raise objections against the draft answer key till January 22, 2026, 5 PM. Objections could be raised by adding comments in the Candidate Portal. CEED Final Answer Key was out IIT Bombay on January 28, 2026. It was out on the website of CEED.

What is CEED Entrance Examination?

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2026 is a national-level design entrance examination conducted by IIT Bombay for M.Des and Ph.D programmes. CEED offers admission in IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED Exam 2026) is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design, involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.

CEED Exam was conducted on January 18, 2026. The reporting time was 7 Am. The exam was from 9 AM to 12 PM. Candidates must carry CEED Admit card and Photo ID proof with them to the CEED Centre. CEED 2026 Exam Analysis is out. According to a few students, the question paper was of moderate level.

Q:   When will the CEED 2026 result be declared?

IIT Bombay has already declared results for the CEED 2026 online. The results were released on March 04, 2026, online at ceed.iitb.ac.in. To check results, candidate needs to log in to the result portals using their login ID. 

CEED 2026 results was released for all candidates who appeared in the design entrance exam. However, the CEED 2026 merit rank will only be issued to candidates who qualify for Part A and are shortlisted.

Q:   How can I check probable scores before CEED 2026 results are declared?
A: 

Candidate can calculate probable scores using CEED 2026 answer key. Draft key will be released on January 20, 2026.

Using key, candidate can calculate the number of correct attempts. Candidate needs to follow marking scheme to calculate probable score. One purpose of probable score is that it will help to know their chances of admission even before CEED results are declared.

Q:   How will CEED 2026 cut-off used to shortlist candidates and what is the formula?
A: 

Formula to determine CEED shortlisting criteria is µ + (σ 2) = δ, where µ and σ are average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part-A of CEED. 

µ and σ will be rounded off after first decimal place. 

Candidates belonging to reserved categories shall have to fulfill a relaxed cut-off mark. It will be

Q:   What are the cut-off marks for Part A of CEED 2023?
A: 

IIT Bombay released the qualifying marks for CEED 2023 - Part A on February 9, 2023. The qualifying cut-off was released in the form of Standard and Mean Deviations.

CEED 2026 Result and Admission Process

CEED released draft keys for Part A in January. Candidates can access and download the draft answer key to report discrepancies, if any, in the draft answer key through the CEED portal within the allotted time. Candidates must always use the Master Question Paper to check the answers.

The CEED 2026 Result was declared on March 04, 2026 on the CEED official website. No hard copies were issued to the candidates. Part A marks will be displayed for all candidates who have appeared for the CEED 2026 Exam, and Part B will be displayed only for shortlisted candidates.  A CEED Rank will be given to all the candidates.

Q:   What factors are considered to determine the admission via CEED 2026 cut-off?
A: 

The participating institute of CEED 2026 will consider the following points for determining the admission cut-off:

  • The number of candidates appearing in CEED 2026

  • The performance of candidates in the exam

  • The merit ranks of applicants seeking admission to the college

  • Total seat intake

  • Category under which admission is sought

  • Previous years’ cutoff trends

Note that the above factors are variables; so, if any of these factors change, the cut-off would also change.

Q:   How can I check CEED 2026 result?
A: 

CEED 2026 result was announced online on the official website of the exam - ceed.iitb.ac.in. The results were declared on March 04, 2026.

Q:   Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?
A: 

IIT Bombay will release the qualifying cut-off for Part A in the first week of February 2026. Cut-off is released in the form of mean and standard deviation. 

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2025) are 45.48 and 16.98, respectively and for Part A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

So, if you don’t meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2026.

Q:   What is the formula for calculating CEED 2026 result?
A: 

CEED Final Score can be calculated using the formula given below. 

CEED FINAL Score = 0.25 x Marks obtained in Part A + 0.75 x Marks obtained in Part B.

What's Next After the CEED 2026 Entrance Exam?

After the CEED Entrance Exam, the CEED results are announced on the official website. Candidates are then required to apply individually to the institutions of their choice using the CEED Score card. Each Institute will have a separate application process, portfolio review, interview rounds, etc. CEED does not conduct any joint counselling for the shortlisted candidates. Counselling is done by individual institutions.

Syllabus for CEED 2026

CEED 2026 syllabus will be in two parts (A & B). Part A will have questions related to the following topics.

  • Visualisation and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualise and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
  • Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
  • Observation and design sensitivity: The capacity to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference, and prediction.
  • Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social and cultural connections with design.
  • Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
  • Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.
  • Art and Design knowledge: Awareness about art/artefact/product, artists/designers, art/design history, and trends.
  • Design methods and practices: Knowledge of media, materials, production processes, and ergonomics.

CEED Part B will have questions related to the following topics:

  • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
  • Creativity: Ability to think out-of-the-box and come up with unique as well as diverse solutions.
  • Communication: Skills to communicate concepts and ideas clearly with the help of text and visuals.
  • Problem identification: Skills to understand the user and the context, knowledge of properties of materials and their appropriate use in design.

IIT Bombay will release the scorecard for the CEED 2026 exam on March 10, 2026; the last date to download the scorecard is June 11, 2026. 

The scorecard will be released after CEED 2026 results are declared. The results are schedule to be declared on March 5, 2026.

The result-cum-scorecard of CEED 2026 will include the information given below.

  • Name and roll number of the candidate

  • Category under which admission is given

Pattern for CEED 2026 

CEED 2026 Pattern will have Part A and Part B. Part A is of 150 Marks and the Maximum Time will be one hour. This part will be a computer-based test and will have three sections. Section 1 is NAT (Numerical Answer Types), Section 2 is MSQ (Multiple Selection Question) and Section 3 is MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).

CEED 2026 Part B is expected to be of a total of 100 marks and the maximum time will be 2 hours. It will consist of 5 questions, which will test design, drawing and writing skills. The part B questions will be displayed on the computer screen, but the answers should be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator. The Part B Answer booklet will be collected after the examination. All the questions are mandatory in this part.

CEED 2026 Application

CEED Applications are closed now. The applications were available on the official website of CEED. A registration fee of INR 2,000 was applicable for all the women candidates, INR 2,000 for SC/ST and PwD candidates and INR 4,000 for all other candidates.

The application fee was non-refundable and non-transferable. CEED 2026 also provided an opportunity to fill out the application form after the regular closing date by paying a late fee of INR 500 along with the application fee.

How to Apply to CEED 2026 M.Des Programme?

  1. Visit the official website of CEED Portal for Application 2026: ceed.iib.ac.in
  2. Register and fill out the CEED 2026 Application form
  3. Upload the necessary documents required for the submission of the CEED 2026.
  4. Pay the required application fee.
  5. Check all the details once again and submit the form. Also, download a copy of the CEED 2026 Application form for future reference.

CEED 2026 Eligibility 

  • Candidates must have a graduate/postgraduate/diploma for a minimum of three years after the 10+2 level, or must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2026, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2026.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for the CEED Examination 2026.
  • A candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.

CEED Admit card was out on January 02, 2026 for M.Des applicants. Candidates can use email id and password to download the admit card. It is available on the candidate portal. The last date for rectification of discrepancies in the CEED Admit Card was January 08, 2025, 05:00 PM.

IIT Bombay has not recommended a dress code for taking CEED Exam. But candidates should dress modestly for the exam. They should avoid heavy jewellery, rugged jeans, chunky shoes, etc.

Yes, candidates must bring a printout of CEED admit card for exam. Soft copies of the admit card will not be accepted. Also, along with the admit card, the candidate should also bring a photo ID proof.
