What exactly is considered a GATE safe score?

A GATE safe score is a specific number or score that guarantees admission to your desired college or institute. It is the ideal number that is sought by all top institutes and PSUs that accept GATE for admission.

As the GATE qualifying cutoff for all 30 papers typically ranges between 25 to 35 marks, it only certifies your eligibility and chance to participate in the counselling process and obtain a GATE scorecard. On the other hand, the GATE safe score is usually higher, which is 750+ out of 1000 and 65+ out of 100.

In addition, it also depends on several factors, such as paper difficulty level and the candidate’s performance. With a safe score in GATE, it can easily help you achieve a good GATE rank within 500, considering other different factors like the normalisation process and competition level.
