Overview

CTET Notification 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education released the September Notification 2026 on the official website ctet.nic.in. The notification was released in the form of PDF on May 11. Along with the notification, the CTET application form link was also activated. The last date to fill the application form was June 10, 2026. Candidates can apply at ctet.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. The CBSE CTET exam will be conducted on Sepember 6, 2026 in two shifts on each day. 

The notification PDF consists of the information of the exam including the application process, languages, eligibility, important dates, pattern, syllabus, examination cities, etc. The CTET exam is conducted by the CBSE twice annually. The CTET application link was activated at ctet.nic.in for the September session. Candidates were required to fill the CTET application form by visiting the official portal. Without it, candidate will not be able to take the exam.The process to fill the online form is shared below.

Syllabus plays an important role in the preparation. Candidates should check once the syllabus properly. They will come to know about the topics that have been covered or are being left for the examination to prepare. The CTET 2026 syllabus provides a holistic approach towards the preparation. Q:   What are the qualifying marks for CTET exam?
A: 

The CTET qualifying marks are different for different categories. General category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 60 per cent or above marks in the CTET 2025 exam in order to be considered as a CTET pass. The CTET passing marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates are 55 per cent. Candidates scoring more than or equal to the qualifying marks are considered CTET qualified. Only those candidates are awarded the CTET Certificate those who secure the minimum qualifying marks. However, a higher CTET score is advantageous in the further teacher recruitment process.

Q:   How many times can a candidate apply for the CTET exam?
A: 

Candidates can apply and appear for the exam as many times as they want. There is no limit on number of attempts in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. Candidates can appear for the exam again to improve the exam score.

Q:   What is the eligibility for CTET?
A: 
The CTET eligibility criteria differ for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Some of the basic requirements to fulfil CTET eligibility criteria for Paper 1 is passing 12 examinations with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks and Paper 2 is completing graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks. Candidates should go through the detailed eligibility criteria before filling out the CTET application form.

The CTET confirmation page is a page that gets auto-generated after successful payment of the application fee. The confirmation page acts as proof that a candidate has successfully filled and submitted the CTET application form. Candidates are required to take printout of CTET Confirmation Page. However, the Confirmation Page is not required to be sent to the CTET Unit or CBSE. Candidates need to keep the Confirmation Page along with them for record and future reference till the end of the entire exam process.
Q:   How do I get my CTET old marksheet?
A: 

You can get the CTET old marksheet or duplicate CTET marksheet and certificate by visiting the official website of the exam. Follow the steps given below to get the previous years marksheets or certificates:

  • Visit the official website - ctet.nic.in.
  • Go to the 'Duplicate Marksheet & Certificate' link under e-Services.
  • Click on the link given under '2011 to 2016' or '2018 & onwards'.
  • Login using the registered mobile or Aadhaar number.
  • Click on the Get Issued Documents link.
  • Select CBSE >>> Teacher Eligibility Test Mark-sheet or Certificate.
  • Enter the Roll Number and Year of passing.
  • Click on get document link.
