CTET Exam Analysis 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon conduct the CTET 2025 exam. The 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be organized offline in pen-and-paper mode. Candidates who took the exam shared the overall difficulty level of the CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2. As per the feedback, the CTET Paper 1 was easy to moderate and Paper 2 was moderate. Q:   How many questions are asked in the CTET exam?
A: 
CTET exam comprises a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Paper 1 and Paper 2 each. The CTET Paper 1 contains 150 MCQs from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies and Paper 2 comprises 150 questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science/ Social Studies or Social Sciences. Candidates need to attempt each paper in two and a half hours duration. The paper is conducted in online mode as a computer-based test.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not announced the CTET exam date 2025 yet. However, it is expected that the 21st edition of the CTET exam will be conducted in July 2025. The CBSE CTET exam will be organised offline in pen and paper mode. The CTET notification 2025 is expected soon. The CTET registration 2025 will begin with the release of notification. The CTET 2025 exam will be held on a single day in two shifts for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The CTET exam is generally easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. The difficulty level depends on the nature of the questions asked in the exam. The CTET exam is conducted for two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper carries 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 1 mark each. Out of the total 150 marks, 90 marks are considered qualifying for the General category and 82 are considered qualifying or CTET cut-off for Reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC.

Q:   Who sets the CTET question paper?

The CTET Unit of the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE Sets the CTET question paper every year. The CTET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET exam pattern lays down the structure of both papers including the number of questions asked in the exam, the marking scheme and the name of the subjects.
Q:   Are the CTET question papers for Paper 1 and 2 the same?

Yes, the CTET question paper is different for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in terms of nature and standard of questions, subjects and difficulty level. (a) Section 1: 30 questions based on child development and pedagogy, each worth one mark. (b) Section 2 and Section 3: Language 1 and Language 2 each consist of 30 questions worth one mark. (c) Section 4: You will have to attempt any one of the following sections: mathematics and Science, or social Science. Depending on which section you selected during the application, you have to answer 60 questions from that section. The topics are as follows: 1. In Child Development and Pedagogy, the question asked is about child development, learning, and pedagogy. 2. The Language I and Language II sections consist of comprehension and the pedagogy of language development. 3. This basic math question is asked in the mathematics section, such as geometry, the solids around us, shapes and spatial understanding, numbers, etc. 4. The Science sections consist of topics related to food, materials, natural phenomena, and natural resources. 5. The Social Sciences section consists of questions related to history, geography, social Science, and political Science.

The CTET 2020 Paper 2 was relatively easier than last year. Shiksha reported live from the CTET exam centre and interviewed the candidates who appeared in the CTET Paper 2. Most of the candidates were of opinion that CTET can be qualified in two months of preparation. Except for some questions, the paper was easy and doable. Solving the previous year papers provided little help as most of the questions were new. The number of repeated questions were negligible. The paper followed the pattern given in the notification and the questions were evenly distributed among all the topics of the CTET Syllabus.

CTET Paper 2 Analysis and Review 2020 by Students

CTET 2019 Exam Analysis for Paper 1 & 2

CTET 2019 Paper 1 was conducted on December 8 from 9:30 am-12 noon. A majority of the candidates that Shiksha spoke to shared that the paper was easy but lengthy. Many of the candidates could not complete the paper on time. Have a look at the analysis of Paper 1 below.

Q:   What is the syllabus and question pattern for Language 2 Malayalam of CTET paper 1?

The syllabus for Language II (Malayalam) in CTET Paper 1 includes the following:

Understanding: Two unseen prose passages (literary, narrative, or scientific) with questions on comprehension, grammar, and verbal ability (15 questions).

Language Development Pedagogy Includes topics about language learning principles, listening and speaking's role, grammar and its role in communication, and the challenges of teaching language in diverse classrooms, consisting of 15 questions.

The question pattern comprises a total of 30 questions, carrying one mark each, which adds up to 150 marks for the paper. These topics will help prepare well in advance.
