Overview

CTET Exam Analysis 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the 21st CTET exam on February 7 & 8. The CTET exam analysis and review is shared here based on the feedback of candidates who take the examination. Shiksha.com reached out to candidates at the CTET exam centres to know the difficulty level of question paper and the topics from which questions are asked.

The CTET paper analysis contains the section-wise topics. Candidates can also check the previous years' exam analysis and review for past sessions. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted offline in written mode. The CBSE conducts the exam in two shifts in several CTET exam centres.

CTET Exam Analysis 2026 Feb 8: Shift 2 Paper 1

As per the students' reactions, the Shift 2 exam of CTET 2026 was Easy to Moderate. But some of the students' felt it moderate.

As per the feedback received from the students', the CTET exam 2026 Shift 1 was Easy to Moderate. Questions were based on concepts and CDP asked was analytical. Question from theories were there.

CTET Exam Analysis 2026 Feb 7: Shift 2 Paper 1

As per the feedback received from the students, Shift 2 exam was concept based, focused on teaching understandings. In CDP theories were asked instead of definitions. Questions from Piaget, Vygotsky, Gardner and Kohlberg were asked. Gender socialism was also asked. Hindi section was focused on language acquisition and classroom application

CTET 2020 Exam Analysis for Paper 1 & 2

The overall difficulty level of CTET Paper 1 was easy. The CTET 2020 Paper 2 was relatively easier than last year. Shiksha reported live from the CTET exam centre and interviewed the candidates who appeared in the CTET Paper 2. Most of the candidates were of opinion that CTET can be qualified in two months of preparation. Except for some questions, the paper was easy and doable. Solving the previous year papers provided little help as most of the questions were new. The number of repeated questions were negligible. The paper followed the pattern given in the notification and the questions were evenly distributed among all the topics of the CTET Syllabus.

CTET 2019 Exam Analysis for Paper 1 & 2

CTET 2019 Paper 1 was conducted on December 8 from 9:30 am-12 noon. A majority of the candidates that Shiksha spoke to shared that the paper was easy but lengthy. Many of the candidates could not complete the paper on time. Have a look at the analysis of Paper 1 below.

CTET 2019 Paper 2 was conducted in the second shift from 2:00-4:30 pm on December 8. The majority of the students that Shiksha spoke to shared that the paper was of easy to moderate difficulty level and the questions in the exam were a bit tricky. Watch the detailed analysis below.

Q:   Does the CTET syllabus change every year?

The CTET syllabus remains the same every year. The change in the syllabus or pattern is notified by the CBSE in the notification. CTET is a national-level eligibility exam which is conducted as per the syllabus prescribed by the NCTE.

A: 

First candidate should understand pattern of an exam and syllabus. Analyze the previous year question papers and practice them. From this, candidates will come to know about the type of questions asked in the examination. Refer NCERT books, make a proper strategy for the preparation. Practice questions related to CDP. Give mock test online. Do frequent revision, etc.

Candidates who get more than 60 per cent marks in the CTET are good scorers. Those who manage to get over 130 marks are considered as high scorers in the Central Teaching Eligibility Test.

Q:   Who sets the CTET question paper?
A: 
The CTET Unit of the Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE Sets the CTET question paper every year. The CTET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET exam pattern lays down the structure of both papers including the number of questions asked in the exam, the marking scheme and the name of the subjects.
Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt the Language 1 section of CTET exam Paper 1?

Yes, candidate need to attempt the Language 1 section of the CTET exam in Paper 1. It is mandatory. Language 1 and 2 are compulsory to attempt.

A: 

Subjects that candidate need to study for the CTET exam Paper 1 are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I usually Hindi or English, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies. For Paper 2 apart from CDP, Language 1 and 2, Mathematics and Science or Social studies.

Q:   What is the overall difficulty level of CTET Exam?

In general, the CTET exam is considered of easy to moderate in difficulty level and with the focused preparation and conceptual clarity is manageable to prepare. Also the difficulty level of the paper depends upon the nature of the questions asked in the examination.

Q:   What is the duration of CTET exam?
A: 

The duration of the CTET exam 2026 for both papers is 2.5 hours or 150 minutes. Both the papers of the CTET exam is conducted in an offline mode and there is no negative marking.
