CTET Salary for PRT/ TGT/ PGT Teachers: Those candidates who are preparing for the CTET exam should know about the salary structure. It is an important component as those who qualify as teachers and appointed as PRT, TGT or PGT receives a competitive pay along with various allowances. According to the 7th Pay Commission, monthly salaries range between INR 9,300 to INR 34,800 and it depends upon the post. Along with the salary they receive several allowances. However, the net pay salary can raise up to INR 48,000 per month.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam is organised every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). What to do after CTET Exam 2026?

CTET exam: Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to give Paper 1. On the other hand, aspirants who plan to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to take Paper 2. Candidates who qualify the CTET exam are awarded a CTET certificate, which is valid for seven years.

Candidates who clear the CTET results and obtain the certificate can apply for jobs in schools such as KVS and NVS. Q:   What is the highest score in CTET?
A: 

The highest score in CTET is 150. The CTET 2026 exam is of 150 total marks. Getting the full 150 marks is considered as the highest score in the exam as there is no negative marking. However, to qualify for the CTET exam, a candidate belonging to General category needs to score a minimum of 60 per cent marks in the exam. Reserved category candidates such as, SC, ST & OBC need to obtain 55 per cent marks to clear the exam.

Q:   Which subject holds maximum weightage in CTET exam?
A: 
Almost all the sections of the CTET exam hold equal weightage. In CTET Paper 1, all subjects including Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies hold equal weightage. However, in CTET Paper 2, the Mathematics & Science and Social Studies/Social Science section holds maximum weightage of 60 marks.

No, there is no upper age limit to take the CTET exam. Candidates above 18 years of age can apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
