CTET Social Science (Paper 2) 2026: Syllabus, Topics, Notes Preparation Tips

CTET Social Science Syllabus 2026: Paper 2

CTET Social Science Syllabus 2026: The CBSE will conduct the CTET exam on February 8, 2026. It is the 21st Edition exam which consists of two papers- Papers 1 and 2. Candidates who appear for Paper 1 want to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for those candidates who want to teach from Classes 6 to 8. Those who want to teach from Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both the papers. The Social Science subject is the Paper of the CTET syllabus. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam held every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CTET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates as Primary (Classes 1 to 5) or Elementary (Classes 6 to 8) teachers. The CTET exam 2026 is organised based on guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The CTET syllabus 2026 is prescribed by the CBSE after taking into consideration the NCTE guidelines.

CTET Exam Pattern 2026: Paper-Wise & Subject-Wise

As per the prescribed CTET exam pattern 2026, each paper is two and a half hours in duration. The total mark for both papers is 150. The CTET question paper comprises 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). CTET Paper 1 consists of five sections, while Paper 2 has four sections. CTET Syllabus 2026: Social Science (Paper 2)
