Written Exam pattern: Exam duration: 90 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes) Mode of exam: Computer-based test Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) Sections: Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing including Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Professional Trends in Nursing. Negative marking: Yes (1/3rd will be awarded for every wrong answer) If you qualify for the written test you are eligible for the interview round.

In the General Knowledge section, questions from topics such as General policy & scientific research, Current Affairs, History, Geography, and Culture are asked in the exam. In addition to the GK section in which 10 questions will be asked, candidates are advised to prepare the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/mathematics sections that will carry 30 questions each. 

There is no official intimation about the change in the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national-level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing. The eligibility criteria and the pattern of both exams are different.

Students can secure admission after passing Class 12 boards or through entrance exam like KCET, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, etc.

AIIMS Delhi, the official BSc nursing entrance exam conducting body, does not provide any syllabus for the entrance exam. The AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is based on the course curriculum of classes 11 and 12. Candidates are advised to thoroughly prepare the HSC syllabus of the Science stream to score well in the AIIMS BSc nursing exam.

In addition, there are multiple preparation books by renowned authors that provide in-depth study material for students. Previous year paper books, mock tests, and other related test series are there in the market to help candidates prepare for the nursing exam. 

AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is not shared in the AIIMS official prospectus dedicated to nursing programme. Candidates will not get any specific download related to the AIIMS nursing syllabus from the official website, bsccourses.aiimsexams.ac.in even. The exam conducting body, AIIMS Delhi, urges the candidate to thoroughly prepare for the entrance exam from Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.  

There are four sections in AIIMS BSc nursing exam named Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. There will be 70 questions overall for which candidates will be provided 120 minutes to solve the paper. It will be an online exam carrying objective-type questions. 

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, conducts AIIMS BSc (Hons) nursing, BSc (Post-Basic) nursing, and BSc (Paramedical) entrance exams annually to grant admission to all AIIMS campuses offering nursing courses. The entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May every year. The conducting body uses a two-stage method for registration to the BSc nursing programme. The first is through the PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) system, a new AIIMS method. The second is through basic registration, followed by the Generation of Code and Final Registration.
