The AIIMS Nursing 2026 syllabus is not clearly defined by the exam conducting body, i.e., All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. In the official prospectus shared by AIIMS Delhi, only the AIIMS Nursing exam pattern is shared, not the syllabus. Candidates are advised to revise the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi.  

As per the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam pattern, 100 questions will be asked from four subjects, which are Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. However, the syllabus is based on the course defined in classes 11 and 12. Candidates preparing to appear for the BSc Nursing entrance exam should have completed class 12 from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and should have a general sense of general knowledge relating to history, current affairs, general policy & scientific research. Applicants are advised to prepare from the NEET syllabus to get a complete idea about the syllabus and prepare for the exam accordingly. 

This year, AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons.) and BSc (Post Basic) entrance exams will be conducted on June 28, 2026 and June 14, 2026 respectively. Read the upcoming sections to know more about the AIIMS BSc Nursing exam syllabus 2026.

In the General Knowledge section, questions from topics such as General policy & scientific research, Current Affairs, History, Geography, and Culture are asked in the exam. In addition to the GK section in which 10 questions will be asked, candidates are advised to prepare the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/mathematics sections that will carry 30 questions each. 

Q:   Has the AIIMS Nursing exam pattern changed?
A: 

There is no official intimation about the change in the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national-level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing. The eligibility criteria and the pattern of both exams are different.

AIIMS Delhi, the official BSc nursing entrance exam conducting body, does not provide any syllabus for the entrance exam. The AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is based on the course curriculum of classes 11 and 12. Candidates are advised to thoroughly prepare the HSC syllabus of the Science stream to score well in the AIIMS BSc nursing exam.

In addition, there are multiple preparation books by renowned authors that provide in-depth study material for students. Previous year paper books, mock tests, and other related test series are there in the market to help candidates prepare for the nursing exam. 

Q:   Can I download AIIMS NURSING syllabus from the official prospectus?
A: 

AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is not shared in the AIIMS official prospectus dedicated to nursing programme. Candidates will not get any specific download related to the AIIMS nursing syllabus from the official website, bsccourses.aiimsexams.ac.in even. The exam conducting body, AIIMS Delhi, urges the candidate to thoroughly prepare for the entrance exam from Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

Candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam will be called for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or 12th or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse

In case the signature is to be uploaded on the AIIMS nursing application form, it should ideally be of the size "20 kb – 100 kb" and the file format should be "jpg/jpeg/gif/png" only. It is advised if candidates can name the file as "Signature. (format)" before uploading it on the AIIMS paramedical

Yes, you need to appear for the AIIMS nursing exam separately. AIIMS does not accept NEET UG for nursing courses. AIIMS conducts separate exams for: MBBS, BSc Nursing, Paramedical courses. The AIIMS BSc Nursing exam is offered every year.
