How to Prepare for IBPS RRB 2022 in 6 Months?: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts IBPS RRB for recruitment to the Group A and B posts-Officers Scale I, II, III and Office Assistant in Regional Rural Banks. If an aspirant wants to crack the most coveted bank exam for Regional Rural Banks, they should prepare well for it. Although the preparation for the IBPS RRB is comprehensive and exhaustive, with the right strategy, an applicant can prepare for the exam in six months and crack it with relative ease. IBPS RRB Preparation Tips for 6 Months

Cracking IBPS RRB in 6 months is a doable job. Candidates must priortise their study as per strengths and weaknesses. They should spare two hours on daily basis for study and revision. Candidates must also work upon their improving speed and accuracy as it is important to crack the exam. Consistency in preparation is also important for cracking IBPS RRB 2023 in 6 months. Practice questions based on the same topic to clear the concepts. Go through the current affairs books and read newspapers daily.

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2023

The preliminary exam of IBPS RRB comprises two sections, Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability. The question paper will carry a total 80 objective type questions. The maximum marks allotted to the test are 80. The duration of the test is 45 minutes. The mains exam comprises Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English/Hindi Language and Computer Knowledge. There will be a total 200 questions. The total marks for the test are 200.

IBPS RRB exam comprises questions from Reasoning, Quantitative/Numerical Ability, English/Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness. Check below how to prepare for IBPS RRB 2023 in 6 months for different sections:

Quantitative Aptitude

Topics under the quant section are number systems, ratio, proportion and variation, time and work, time, speed and distance, profit and loss, averages, mixtures and alligations, partnership, permutations and combinations, probability, quadratic equations, mensuration, data interpretation (DI)- Pie charts, line graphs, bar graphs. Here are few tips and tricks to crack the Quantitative Aptitude section.

  • Divide the Quantitative Aptitude preparation based on conceptual clarity, practicing questions with a timer, short tricks to increase speed
  • Practice a lot of questions from different sources to get familiar with all the possible types of questions
  • Candidates must polish their calculations. They should be quick and accurate with their calculations, especially with DI
  • Go through the previous year’s question papers 
  • Take multiple mocks to get in the exam zone

Topics under the Reasoning section are puzzles: Linear/circular arrangement, coding-decoding, blood relations, inequality, ordering and ranking related puzzles, direction, syllogism, input-Output, statement Assumption, statement conclusion, statement Course of Action. English Language

Topics under the English language section are reading comprehension, error spotting, cloze test, fill in the blanks, para jumbles, vocabulary based questions (synonyms– antonyms)

  • Practice a lot of mocks. It’s easy to answer questions individually but as a section under time pressure, it can be a daunting task
  • Build up vocabulary
  • Try to read a newspaper every day

General Awareness

Topics under the GK section can be divided into two categories, static GK, and current affairs. The tips to prepare the General Awareness section of IBPS RRB in 6 months are given below:

  • Make sure to cover concepts and facts together
  • Have conceptual clarity and rationality of thought & expression
  • Cover current affairs of at least 6 months leading up to the exam
  • Focus more on news related to banking, its guidelines and policies released by the RBI/SEBI, government schemes, important reports and indices, and GDP forecasts
  • Make concise notes for quick revision

Computer Knowledge

Topics under the Computer Knowledge section are basics of hardware and software, Windows operating system basics, internet terms and services, basic functionalities of MS-office, history of computers, networking and communication, database basics, basics of hacking, security tools and viruses. Remember to go through the topics of computer abbreviations, computer shortcuts, and MS office very thoroughly. Candidates must also focus on topics of History of Computers, and the fundamentals of the same. 

How to Prepare for IBPS RRB 2023 in 6 months?

Candidates must follow the month-wise strategy below to prepare for IBPS RRB 2022 in 6 months:

April

  • Candidates must make a section-wise list of topics from where questions are asked in the exam
  • Start with the ones you find the toughest or have never heard before
  • Devote one hour on each section
  • Refer to the school textbooks to learn the fundamental concepts

May and June

Once you have gone through every topic on your list, begin with focused preparation

Buy a preparation book for bank exams and start solving questions topic-wise

Dedicate an hour a day for studying

Follow preparation books because the questions asked in the exam are different than the ones in the school textbooks

Focus on learning shortcut tricks for solving lengthy problems

July and August

  • In the last days, sign up for any online mock test and solve at least one paper in a day
  • Do not solve mocks for the preliminary exam but also for the mains exam
  • Solving mock tests will help in identifying the problem areas and work on them
  • Mock tests also help in understanding the modalities of an online test

Yes, separate IBPS RRB admit cards are issued for prelims and Mains exams. The prelims admit card is released for all the registered candidates. The Mains admit card is released for candidates who qualifies the prelims exam.
