RRB ALP CBT 2 exam analysis 2025: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conducted the Shift 2 of RRB ALP 2025 CBT 2 exam. The overall difficulty level of this shift 2 was moderate. According to students who appeared in Shift 1 of RRB ALP CBT 2 exam, the overall difficulty level of the shift 1 exam was moderate. Questions asked in Part A from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering were easy and simple. The difficulty level of Part B was moderate, and questions were mostly technical. Questions in Maths were asked from Algebra, Equations, Time and Distance, etc. Questions in General Intelligence and Reasoning were asked from Alphabetical series, Age, Conclusion Statement, Venn Diagram, etc. There were no questions from Environment.

Earlier, the RRB ALP exam, scheduled on March 19 and 20, 2025, was cancelled due to technical glitch. RRB ALP CBT 2 exam analysis 2025 for shift 1 is provided on this page.

The questions in this part are asked from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trade from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline/HSC (10+2).

RRB ALP CBT 2 2025 Student Reaction

Shiksha reported live from one of the RRB ALP CBT 2 2025 exam centres in Ghaziabad to gather the feedback related to the overall difficulty level of the exam. Check below the feedback shared by the students.

Mohit Dhyani said, "The Part A of RRB ALP CBT 2 exam was easy. Questions asked from all the sections in this part were easy. The Part B was moderate in terms of difficulty level. Questions in this part were mostly technical."

Aman said, "The difficulty level of the CBT 2 paper was moderate. I have attempted 70 questions. Questions were not calculatiive they were normal. Those who are appearing in the upcoming shifts and have opted for Electrical should study more about the machines and connections. Most of the questions were asked based on these topics."

Arun Kumar said, "I have attempted 75 questions in CBT 2 exam. The paper was tougher compared to the last exam held in 2018."

RRB ALP CBT 2 Exam Pattern 2025

RRB ALP CBT 2 exam pattern comprises two parts. The details related to RRB ALP CBT 2 exam pattern are given below.

Part A

Part A carries 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. For incorrect answers in Part A, 1/3 marks are deducted. The minimum qualifying marks in this part are 40 per cent for UR & EWS, OBC (NCL) is 30 per cent, SC is 30 per cent and ST is 25 per cent.

Part B

Part B carries 75 trade-specific questions. The exam duration of Part B is 60 minutes. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). What Next After RRB ALP CBT 2?

Candidates qualifying the RRB ALP CBT 2 exam are called for CBAT. Candidates equal to eight times the number of RRB ALP vacancies are called for CBAT based on the performance in Part A of second stage CBT, subject to qualifying the Part B. Candidates are required to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The questions in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP, 70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.
