Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) is conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University for the selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities/ colleges of Maharashtra and Goa.

MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2021: Nationality
Indian citizens are eligible to fill the MH SET 2021 application form.
Note: Reserved Category candidates belonging to States other than Maharashtra and Goa will be treated as General Category, as per the reservation policy of Maharashtra and Goa.
MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2021: Age Limit
There is no upper age limit to apply for the MH SET 2021 exam.
MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2021: Educational Qualification
Check below the educational qualifications desired from candidates who want to appear for the MH SET exam.
- Candidates must have a Master’s Degree (post-graduation) in a subject of SET from a recognized Indian Universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
- Candidates other than the SC/ ST/ OBC/ SBC/ DT(VJ)/ NT/ Transgender category who have secured at least 55 per cent marks in their Master’s or equivalent are eligible for the MH SET.
- OBC/ SBC/ DT(VJ)/ NT category candidates belonging to the non-creamy layer and SC/ ST/ Transgenders/ PwD category candidates who have obtained at least 50 per cent marks in their Master’s or equivalent are eligible for the exam
- Candidates pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent or those who appeared for qualifying Master’s degree (final year) exam and their result is awaited or candidates whose qualifying exams are delayed can also apply for MH SET. However, such candidates are selected provisionally and they will be considered eligible after they qualify their Master's degree at least 55 per cent marks (50 per cent marks in case of SC/ ST/ PwD/ OBC/ SBC/ DT(A)/ NT(B, C, D)/ Transgender.
- Candidates studying in the first year of two years Masters degree or in the first two semesters of a four-semester Master’s degree course or studying in the fourth year of a 5-year Integrated Masters Course are not eligible to apply for the exam.
Other Eligibility Conditions for MH SET 2021
Apart from the eligibility criteria mentioned above, there are other conditions for the MH SET examination. Have a look:
- Candidates can appear for the SET exam in the subject of their Post Graduation itself. If a post-graduate subject is not included in the list of MH SET subjects, then the candidates can appear for SET in a related subject.
- OBC/ DT (A)(VJ)/ NT (B, C, D)/ SBC category candidates must have a valid category certificate recognized by Maharashtra & Goa governments.
- Candidates who have already qualified the MH SET in a particular subject will not be allowed to appear for the exam in the same subject.
- Candidates who have passed M.Sc. (by PPPR/ Research) are not eligible for the MH SET.
