The MH SET (Maharashtra State Eligibility Test) notification was released on Janaury 5, 2024. The candidates were allowed to download the MH SET notification by followin the steps given below:

Q:   When will the MH SET admit card be released?

A:

The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) was released by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on March 28, 2024. The MH SET exam is scheduled to be conducted on April 7, 2024. The candidates will be able to donwload the MH SET admit card by following the steps given below:

  • Go to the official website
  • Click on the MH SET admit card link 
  • The login page will appear on the screen 
  • Fill out the login credentials 
  • Fill out the captcha code available on the screen 
  • Click on the submit button 
  • The MH SET admit card will appear on the screen 
  • Download the MH SET admit card and save it for later use
 

Q:   When the MH SET application form was released?

A:

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) released the application form for the Maharahtra State Eligibility Test (MHSET) for the 39th SET on January 12, 2024. The MH SET application windiow was remain active till January 31, 2024.  The candidates could apply for the MH SET exam on the official website- setexam.unipune.ac.in. The steps to apply for the MH SET exam are given below:

  • Go to the official website 
  • Click on the login tab available on the website 
  • Click on the new registration 
  • Fill out the registration details 
  • Login to the registered account 
  • Click on the 39th MH SET link 
  • Fill out the details asked 
  • Pay the application Fee
  • Print the application form and save it for later use
 

MH SET Notification 2024: How to apply?

MH SET application form was released by the SPPU on January 12, 2024 which continued till January 31, 2024. The candidates were allowed to fill out the MH SET application form till February 7, 2024, with late fine. On the other hand, the MH SET application correction window was activated on February 8 and 9, 2024.

Before filling the MH SET application form, candidates must go through the MH SET eligibility criteria. In order to fill the form, candidates need to make a fee payment. The application fee is INR 800 for the General category and INR 650 for OBC/ SBC/ DT(A)/ NT(B)/ NT(C)/ NT(D)/ SEBC (Non Creamy Layer Category Only)/ Open (EWS)/SC/ST/PH/VH/ Transgenders/ Orphan category. Post the final submission of the form, candidates should save a copy of its confirmation page.

Q:   What are the details mentioned in the MH SET admit card?

A:

The admit card of MH SET will mention the following details:

  • Candidate’s name
  • Admission Category
  • SET ID
  • Exam Date and Venue
  • Venue Address
  • Seat Number
  • Candidate's date of birth
  • Exam Day Instructions

The test takers are advised to take two printouts of the MH SET admit card and preserve at least one copy of the same till the end of the admission process. Institutes may seek a copy of admit card at the time of admission. The test takers must also carry a valid photo ID proof to the exam hall. The MH SET admit card is one of the most important documents which is to be carried to the exam hall. The MH SET admit card will be treated as the entry ticket to the centre. To ensure that a candidate doesn't use proxy candidate for taking the exam, admit card and original photo ID is checked at the exam centre. 

 

Q:   In case I forget to carry my MH SET admit card to the exam centre, can I show the digital copy?

A:

No, you cannot use a digital copy of your MH SET admit card in place of the original at the examcentre. The MH SET admit card is a required document that acts as confirmation of your eligibility and permits you to sit for the exam. You will not be permitted to enter the exam centre or take the examif you do not have your original admission card with you. As a result, it is strongly advised that you keep the original MH SET admit card safe and secure and bring it with you to the test centre. Furthermore, you should bring a valid picture ID evidence, such as an Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Voter ID Card, or Passport, since this will be required for verification. If you have misplaced your MH SET admit card, you can obtain a duplicate copy from the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) official website by entering in with your registration number and password. However, it is always a good idea to keep the original admission card secure in order to avoid any last-minute problems or delays.

 

Q:   The spelling of my name mentioned on the MH SET admit card is incorrect. What should I do?

A:

If you find any discrepancy in your name or any other details mentioned on your MH SET admit card, you should immediately contact the MH SET helpdesk and inform them about the error. You can also send an email to the helpdesk or contact them through phone to inform them about the error. Make sure to provide your correct name and other details along with your application number and other relevant information. The MH SET helpdesk will guide you on the process to correct the error in your name or other details mentioned on the admit card. You may be required to provide some documents as proof of your correct name or other details. It is important to get the error corrected before the exam day to avoid any confusion or issues at the exam center. MH SET Exam Pattern 2024

The MH SET 2024 exam will be conducted in two separate sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all the candidates and comprises 50 objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to test candidates’ reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper 2 is conducted in 32 different subjects and contains 100 MCQs. In both the papers, each question carries 2 marks. MH SET Paper is of 1-hour duration and Paper 2 is of 2 hours duration. There is no negative marking in the exam for wrong answers.

Q:   What is the age limit for MH SET exam?

A:

The age limit for the MH SET exam varies depending on the category of the candidate. The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) which conducts the MH SET exam, has set the following age limits for candidates:

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor. It is important to note that the age limit for the MH SET exam may be subject to change from time to time. MH SET Syllabus 2024

The State Eligibility Test for Maharashtra & Goa states will be held on the basis of the latest UGC NET syllabus, except for the Life Science, Physical Science, Chemical Science, Mathematical Science, Earth, Atmospheric and Ocean & Planetary Science subjects. The syllabus of these subjects will be the same as before. In these subjects, the Paper 2 and 3 syllabi will form the Paper 2 syllabus.

Q:   What is the criteria for becoming a government lecturer after cracking MH SET exam?

A:

Eligibility to be a Lecturer:

  1. Educational Qualification To be eligible to be a lecturer one should hold at least a Master Degree in any of the relevant subject with at least 55% marks in it. Higher qualifications are always preferred.
  2. Interested candidate has to appear in MH SET exam which is held twice a year and pass it.This is the only hurdle to be cleared to be eligible to get a job as a lecturer In a college. 
  3. After clearing MH SET exam one is eligible for applying as a lecturer in any college affiliated with any of the university recognised by UGC in Maharashtra. Clearing of MH SET does not gives guarantee of any job it is just a condition to be cleared. One has to individually apply against the post advertised by various colleges from time to time in the mass media.College authorities can appoint a lecture by their own means. They may take a written test followed by an interview to select the deserving candidate or a walk in interview may be the criterion for the selection.
 

Q:   Is there any interview round in MH SET exam?

A:
The MH SET exam conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) does not have a Personal Interview round. The selection of candidates for the award eligibility for Assistant Professor which is based solely on the performance of the candidates in the written exam conducted in two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. The candidates who qualify for the MH SET exam are required to apply for the PhD or Assistant Professorship vacancies in various universities and colleges that are advertised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or other Maharasthra Government bodies.
