CSIR UGC NET Admit Card 2023 will be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) three days before the exam date. CSIR NET 2023 exam will be conducted by the NTA in the month of December 2023, tentatively. Candidates will be able to download the admit card by logging in with a valid registration number and password provided during the time of registration. Once the admit card is released, the exam center details are final, and it is not easy to get them changed. The exam center allocation for the CSIR NET exam is usually done based on the candidate's preference given during the application process. The exam conducting authority tries to allocate the exam center to the candidate as per their preference, but this is subject to availability of seats and other factors. Once the admit card is released, candidates are advised to check the exam center details mentioned on it carefully. They should note down the exam center address and location and make travel arrangements accordingly. It is advisable to visit the exam center location in advance and familiarize oneself with the route and transportation options available.

Q:   What is the mode of conducting the CSIR NET Exam?

A:
The CSIR NET exam is conducted in an online computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is conducted in two sessions, I. e. , morning and afternoon sessions. The duration of each session is 3 hours. The CSIR NET exam is conducted in five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. The exam is conducted in English and consists of three parts: Part A, Part B, and Part C. Part A is common for all subjects and consists of questions related to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical, and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles, etc. Part B and Part C are subject-specific, and the questions are designed to test the candidate's knowledge in the respective subject.

CSIR NET Exam Day Instructions 2023

Candidates need to follow the given CSIR NET exam day guidelines at the exam centres:

  • Candidates should reach the CSIR NET exam centre at the time indicated against reporting time in their CSIR UGC NET admit card 2023
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter after the gate closing time
  • No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination
  • Upon completion of the examination, candidates are advised to wait for instructions from Invigilator. The candidates will be allowed to move out only one at a time
  • The CSIR NET admit card is provisional, subject to satisfying the CSIR NET eligibility criteria 2023 as given in the Information Bulletin
  • Candidates are advised to verify the location of the exam centre, a day in advance so that they do not face any problems on the day of the exam
  • If religion/ customs require you to wear specific attire, then please visit the exam centre a little early for thorough checking and frisking
  • No candidate would be allowed to enter the centre without admit card, self-declaration undertaking, valid ID proof, and proper frisking
  • Before reaching the centre, candidates must enter the required details in the Self Declaration (Undertaking) in legible handwriting, paste their photograph and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the admit card
  • PwBD candidates (with a disability of 40% and more) will be allowed an extra time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination
  • PwBD candidates must bring a PwBD certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming relaxation under the PwBD category. The Scribe provided by the NTA must also carry his/ her own Self Declaration (Undertaking) regarding educational qualification, passport-size photograph, valid government identity, and self-declaration (Undertaking)
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any personal belongings, electronic devices, or mobile phones to the examination centres
  • Shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are not allowed

Things Allowed at CSIR NET Exam Centre 2023

Candidates will be allowed to carry the following items to the CSIR NET examination centres:

  • Personal transparent water bottle,
  • Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml)
  • A simple transparent Ball Point Pen
  • CSIR NET admit card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website
  • Additional passport-size photograph
  • Original valid ID proof
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the centre wearing his/ her own mask. The face mask will be provided at the centre.

What's Next after CSIR UGC NET Admit Card 2023?

After the release of the admit card, the NTA conducts the CSIR NET exam. All candidates who apply for the exam need to appear for the National Eligibility Test (NET) as per the details and instructions mentioned on their admit cards. Candidates are advised to reach the allotted test centre at least two hours before the commencement of the exam. 

The CSIR NET exam is an online test of three hours duration. The exam comprises objective questions of 200 marks each in Paper 1 and Paper 2. The number of questions varies as per the subjects chosen by the candidates.
