Whether a candidate wants to teach in government schools or in central institutions, qualifying the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a must. In India, teaching exams are conducted for several purposes, such as determining eligibility, as an entrance and for the recruitment of teachers at the central and state levels. Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)
There are teaching exams that are conducted to make candidates eligible to apply for teaching jobs in India. These exams are the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and State TET exams. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the CTET exam at the national level. The CTET official website is ctet.nic.in. The CBSE released the CTET 2026 notification on November 27. TET stands for Teacher Eligibility Test. Government Teacher Recruitment Exams 2025
The list of teaching exams shared above is of the eligibility tests. The Teacher Eligibility Tests are different from teacher recruitment exams. Candidates who are seeking teaching jobs in India need to appear for government teacher exams conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), etc. The government exams for teachers are conducted for the posts of Primary Teachers (PRT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT).
