JKSET 2025: The JKSET/ LASET 2025 has been postponed due to the prevailing situation. The JKSET exam will be conducted soon on a new exam date for 41 subjects at three centres - Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. The JKSET admit card 2025 will be rereleased as per the new exam date at www.jujkset.in. The JK SET admit card 2025 download link will be shared below. The JKSET application form was available from June 11 to July 26, 2024 and the apply online link was available again from February 2 to 10, 2025. The JK SET application form correction 2025 window was available from February 13 to 15, 2025. The University of Jammu released the JKSET notification on June 5, 2024, on the official website- www.jujkset.in. 

The JKSET/ LASET exam determines a candidate's eligibility for the Assistant Professor post in the universities and colleges of J&K and Ladakh. The State Eligibility Test (SET) is conducted for the Union Territories (UTs) of Jammu & Kashmir (JKSET) and Ladakh (LASET).

Q:   What is the JKSET exam date 2025?

The JKSET/LASET 2025 exam will be held soon. Earlier, the JKSET 2025 exam was scheduled to be held on May 11, 2025. However, the exam was postponed due to the prevailing situation. The JKSET exam will be held offline in pen and paper mode. The JKSET 2025 exam is conducted for a total of 41 subjects at three centres - Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. What is JK SET?

Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JK SET)/ Ladakh State Eligibility Test (LASET) is a state-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Q:   Is there any negative marking in JKSET?
A: 

There is no negative marking in the JKSET exam. Candidates are awarded 2 marks for each correct answer in the JKSET exam and no marks for unattempted questions or wrong answers. The JKSET exam carries a total of 300 marks (Paper 1 + Paper 2). The JKSET Paper 1 holds the weightage of 100 marks and Paper 2 carries 200 marks. Candidates need to give both papers to qualify the exam.

Q:   What is the qualification for JKSET?
A: 

Candidates need to fulfill the JKSET eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification to be eligible to apply for the exam. Have a look at the JKSET educational qualification below:

  • Candidates with at least 55 per cent marks or an equivalent grade (50 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) in Master’s Degree or equivalent exam from Universities/ Institutions recognised by UGC.

  • Candidates who appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree exam and whose result is still awaited will be admitted provisionally and will be awarded the eligibility for Assistant Professor after they pass the Master’s degree exam.

  • PhD degree holders who completed the Master’s degree exam by September 19, 1991, are given a relaxation of 5 per cent in aggregate marks for appearing in JKSET/ LASET.

  • Candidates who have already passed the UGC NET/ CSIR NET exam before 1989 are exempted from appearing in JK SET.

 

Q:   How many times is the JKSET exam conducted in a year?
A: 

The JKSET exam is conducted once every year. However, it is solely upon the University of Jammu to decide on the frequency of the JKSET exam. The JKSET exam carries two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2 and both the papers are compulsory to attempt. The University organizes the exam in separate shifts without any break.

A: 

Candidates can know their JK SET exam centre by downloading their admit cards. The JK SET admit card is released around a week before the exam informing the candidates about the allotted JKSET exam centre name and address. JK SET Eligibility 2025

The basic eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfil to apply for the JK SET 2025 exam are given below:

  • Candidates with at least 55 per cent marks or an equivalent grade (50 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) in Master’s Degree or equivalent exam from Universities/ Institutions recognized by UGC.

No, PhD is not compulsory for the JK SET exam. However, PhD degree holders who did their Master's degree or post-graduation by September 19,  1991 get relaxation of 5% for appearing in JKSET exam. In this case, the date of declaration of Master's degree result is not applicable.

Q:   Who is eligible for the JKSET?
A: 

Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Master's Degree or equivalent exam from UGC-recognised universities and institutions are eligible for JKSET/ LASET exam. However, reserved category candidates such as SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender need 50% marks. Moreover, Candidates who appeared or are appearing for the Master's degree exam and awaiting the results can also apply for the exam. There is no upper age limit to appear for the JK SET exam.

Q:   What is the age limit for JKSET exam?
A: 

There is no age limit to appear for the JKSET examination. Candidates only need to posses Master's Degree with 55% marks (50 % for SC/ ST/ PwD) to apply and appear for the JK SET/ LASET exam. There is no upper age limit as well. Candidates can appear for the exam for any number of times till they attain the desired scores.

JK SET selection process includes the following steps:

  • JK SET application form: Firstly, candidates need to fill JK SET application form on the official website of the exam.
  • JK SET admit card: Candidates who successfully apply for the exam are issued the JK SET admit card. Candidates need to download the admit card and carry it to the exam centre on the day of the examination.
  • JK SET exam: Candidates need to appear for the JK SET exam at the allotted test centre. JK SET contains two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The JK SET Paper 1 carries 100 marks and Paper 2 carries 200 marks.

No, PhD is not compulsory for the JK SET exam. However, PhD degree holders who did their Master's degree or post-graduation by September 19,  1991 get relaxation of 5% for appearing in JKSET exam. In this case, the date of declaration of Master's degree result is not applicable.

There is no age limit to appear for the JKSET examination. Candidates only need to posses Master's Degree with 55% marks (50 % for SC/ ST/ PwD) to apply and appear for the JK SET/ LASET exam.
