- Students will need to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board in Science stream to take admission in bachelor’s degree programmes in the Central Universities.
- For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50 per cent in Class 12, for SC/ST, candidates need to have secured a minimum of 45 per cent in Class 12 in order to be eligible for the CUCET 2022. CUET 2022 Scores vs Board Exam Results
UGC Chairman while speaking on the CUET 2022 scores clarified that from now on, only the CUCET scores will be taken into consideration by the Central Universities. This is a major relief to many students, as now, the board exam results or Class 12 results will not be the sole criteria for admissions to Central Universities.
While the CUET 2022 scores will be important, the varsities will be able to set minimum eligibility criteria based on board exam results. This means that students scoring a certain threshold of marks may or may not be allowed to appear for CUCET 2022. However, an official confirmation on this is still awaited.
The NTA will conduct CUCET 2022 for admissions to both UG and PG programmes, offered by all Central Universities, to streamline the admission process and remove the cut-off criteria. Currently, 45 Central Universities are funded by the UGC.
