Mystory@Megha Ramdas Rohamare: How I chose my course and career
When I was in school, like many other girls even I dreamt of becoming a doctor. Soon, when I went to High School I realised that dealing with blood was not my cup of tea so, I thought of being an IIT student. But in the Biosciences section I lost my seat with 3.05 marks. I felt sad as now I would have to change my career. I was not prepared to take any chances at that point of time, and that was probably the hardest time of my life. But thanks to the support of my parents and friends, I managed to crack the entrance of one of the premier Institutes of India. It was tough to crack the exam after I had given up on everything but I realised that I needed to raise the bar for myself. Fly high, each day is yours; celebrate it every time.
To be honest, I was weak in Mathematics. Nevertheless, I wanted to do something different and then I came across this Institute called National Institute of Virology. I went through the syllabus of the entrance test and got to know that it covered vast topics like General knowledge, quantitative skills, aptitude and intelligence along with 10+2 level questions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. M. Sc. Virology is a focused, unique, oriented and flexible postgraduate course for cultivating and developing adequately trained human resource in virology for academic, industry and health sectors. It includes knowledge about basic as well as applicatory aspects of the study subjects. Moreover, the practical conducted by the institute are highly appreciable. So, all in all it was an amazing experience.
