The placement rate for PG (3-year) and PG (5-year) courses has been fluctuating over the past three years. On the other hand, the placement rate for PG (2-year) courses was the same in 2021 and 2022, however it increased in 2023. The University is yet to release the 2024 placement data. Earlier, out of all the UG courses, the highest number of students were placed in BTech. On the other hand, PG (2-year) courses recorded the highest number of students placed during 2023 placements. The Calcutta University highest package or the salary details for 2024 drive are yet to be released. However, the median package for the 2023 drive is disclosed in the NIRF report 2024. The highest median package offered during 2023 placements was INR 10 LPA, made to PG (2-year) and BTech students. Yes, Calcutta University does offer BSc courses as general and honours courses for the duration of three years, divided into six semesters. The university offers BSc courses through the affiliated colleges and its campus. To get admission into the courses, applicants are required to complete their Class 12 from a Science stream with relevant subjects. 

No, studying at Faculty of law, Calcutta University is not at all expensive. The fees structure is very reasonable and better than other law colleges of the area. Doing 5 year BA+ LLB course from this istitution costs 87.2 K - 3.2 L, which is very resonable if we see the returns on investment. The placement packages of this Institute are also very good, seeing the fees structure. The median package offered to BA LLB and PG  students during the recent placement drive were 7.84 LPA and 9.20 LPA respectively. Various scholarships are also provided to students, so that they can get some relief from the fees. So overall it can be said that, studying at Faculty of law is not very expensive.

No, you cannot get admission at a rank of 7000 at Calcutta University. The Calcutta University cutoff 2024 for the BTech courses at the undergraduate level has been released upto Round 3 seat allotment results. The WBJEE cutoff 2024 for BTech courses ranged between 903 and 3918 for General AI students. So, candidates having a rank of, 7000 cannot not even think of  getting admission at Calcutta University. However, for OBC AI category candidates, the required rank to get into Calcutta University is 27788 or below than that.

Yes, Calcutta University does offer BCom courses for the duration of three years, divided into six semesters, and offered in full-time mode. Moreover, the university offers BCom courses as an honours degree course. The eligibility requirement to get admission into BCom courses is that applicants must complete their Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for reserved categories). 

Calcutta University accepts its own entrance exam for admission to various UG and PG courses.
