To get into DTU, candidates must score decent marks or at least around 220 or above marks in JEE Mains. The only way to get into DTU without appearing for JEE Main is by taking a lateral entry admission to BTech second year. In order to do this, candidates must complete a Polytechnic course of two years and then appear for an entrance exam (not JEE Main but this exam will give you entry in DTU's second year.

Being a very old government college, it has gained immense recognition as well. Syllabus is a bit outdated. The subjects in the first year are common for all, irrespective of branches. Classes are held regularly, though there are bunks as well during exams, fests etc.

The professors are well educated, most of them have done PhD. Some of the teachers are good, interesting while some make the subject very boring and dull. Some of them would just copy the things from the book without actually making the students understand. I would advice to be regular in class and always stay in touch with the syllabus. The study during engineering is comparatively easier than that during JEE and so one can easily cope up.

DTU is not just great in terms of academics or placements, but the fests and societies also help a student to develop as an individual. It makes you a much better person rather than just a bookish engineer.
