IPU CET 2026 exam pattern is extremely important for candidates aspiring for admission to BTech lateral entry and BTech (Biotechnology). IPU CET exam pattern 2026 includes details like types of questions, marking scheme, the total number of questions, etc. Besides, it helps in understanding the layout of the question paper. Knowledge of the IPU CET syllabus 2026 is also important to prepare a good preparation strategy.

IPU CET exam is conducted for Lateral Entry to BTech programmes for Diploma holders (Code 128), Lateral Entry to BTech programmes for BSc Graduates (Code 129) and BTech (Bio-Technology) (Code 130).  The IPU CET counselling process for these programmes will be conducted after the results are out. Q:   Is it possible to change the answers on the OMR sheet in IPU CET?
A: 

No, once answers are marked on OMR sheet in IPU CET it is generally not possible to change options. OMR sheets are designed to detect and check marked responses. Making changes to the options may cause difficulty in calculating score. Candidates must check and verify answers before marking them on OMR sheet. 

Q:   What is the percentage of questions from various subjects in the IPU CET for Bio-Technology admission?
A: 

IPU CET question paper for B.Tech (Bio-Technology) includes questions from Physics Chemistry and either Mathematics or Biology (Botany and Zoology or Biotechnology at the Class 12 level. Percentage distribution of questions for each subject is as follows Physics (Class 12 Level) - 20% Chemistry (Class 12 Level) - 20% Mathematics (Class 12 Level) - 20% Biology (Botany and Zoology or Biotechnology (Class 12 Level) - 40%.

Q:   What is the subject-wise distribution of questions in the IPU CET for B.Tech Lateral entry admission for B.Sc. Students?
A: 

BTech Lateral entry admission for the BSc graduates will include the questions from the following subjects:  Mathematics, Analytical & Logical Reasoning (BSc Level), English (Class 12 level), and Scientific Aptitude. The distribution of questions is as follows. English (Class 12 level): Scientific Aptitude - 20%, Mathematics - 20%, Analytical and Logical Reasoning - 40%

IPU CET 2026 Exam Pattern

IPU CET question paper will include a total of 100 objective-type questions. Each question will carry four options, out of which only one option will be correct. Candidates are required to mark correct one on OMR sheet. The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for BTech (BioTechnology). Candidates can check IPU CET syllabus to know about important topics of the different subjects. It will help them in devising a better exam preparation strategy.

Q:   What is the maximum mark a candidate can score in IPU CET?
A: 

IPU CET 2026 examination will be held for 400 marks.  Each question is for four marks. One mark will be reduced for wrong answer. Candidates must be sure of answer before marking answer.

Q:   What is the duration of the IPU CET examination?
A: 

Candidates will get a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete IPU CET exam. During this time, candidates must solve questions. By referring to official sources, you can make sure you have most accurate and up-to-date information about duration of IPU CET examination.

Q:   Is there negative marking in IPU CET?
A: 

In IPU CET  there is negative marking. This means one mark is reduced for each incorrect response. Marks are not deducted for unanswered questions. This means that if a candidate leaves a question unanswered, no marks are deducted.
