No, Hindustan University offers admission to all of its courses based on a valid score in the respective entrance exams. For the majority of UG courses from the streams of Science, Commerce, Humanities, Management and Law, the university conducts an in-house entrance exam, i.e., HITSCAT. Further, the the highest package offered during the 2022 placement drive stood at INR 12.75 LPA. The total tuition fee for the BTech course ranges between INR 1.8 Lakhs to INR 13 lakhs. Apart from this, the candidate also has to pay hostel and one-time fee to pursue BTech course at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science commonly known as Hindustan University.

In order to get admission to BTech at Hindustan University, the minimum eligibility criteria is to pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate in PCM as subjects. Those who belong to the reserved category are required to get 45% aggregate. The university also offers admission to BTech (Lateral Entry). The minimum eligibility criteria for the same is to either get a Diploma with minimum 50% aggregate in the branch of Engineering/ Technology from the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu or graduate with minimum 50% aggregate in Science and Mathematics as one of the main subject. The candidate should fall in the age group from 19 to 22 years.

Yes, Hindustan University offers a five-year integrated course of BSc + MSc across three specialisations, namely Food Technology, Visual Communication and Mathematics. In this integrated course, students get a combined degree of UG and PG after the completion of course.

At the UG level, Hindustan University offers a four-year BTech course across 15 specialisations, including two specialisations, which are offered in collaboration with IBM. These specialisations are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, CSE (in collaboration with IBM), etc. These specialisations are further divided into multiple sub-specialisations.

HITS Chennai BTech admission process shall commence with the release of HITSEEE application. The application form has to be submitted before the deadline. HITSEEE application form is expected to be released in Dec of every year, and the application window will remain open till Apr. Moreover, the entrance exam will be conducted in May 2026.

The exam-conducting authority conducted the HITSEEE 2024 exam from May 3 to May 10, 2024. The course range of this university is vast with more than 100 courses offered at the UG, PG, and PhD levels. These include- BBA, BTech, BCA, BSc, BCom, MTech, etc. 

HITS admit candidates to its BTech courses through HITSEEE counselling. However, it may grant admission through TNEA counselling as well. In 2024, the TNEA last round closing rank was 19791 for BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. It is for the candidates belonging to general All-India category candidates. The closing rank further shows that competition has got low as the closing rank was 2295 in 2023.
