Q:   Which entrance exam is accepted by IPU?
A: 

Yes, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to BSc, BCA, BCom (Hons), B.Ed, BA (JMC), BHMCT, BBA, BA (Hons), BVoc, BPT, BPO, BOT, BASLP, BSc MLT, MSc, MA, MEd, MPT, MOT and MPO courses. IPU CET exam 2025 application forms for other courses, open tentatively in March every year. Apart from conducting IPU CET, GGSIPU also accepts several national-level entrance exams to provide admission to a few undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. 

Q:   Is CAT compulsory for MBA at IPU?
A: 

No, CAT is not the only exam based on which admission is granted. GGSIPU accepts the CAT percentile for MBA admission basis on which a merit list of selected candidates is released for the counselling round. Moreover, for the MBA in IT course, the university conducted IPU CET exam is accepted. In case the seats are left vacant after CAT candidates, then the seat allotment is carried out based on the candidate's CMAT scores.

Q:   Is Mathematics required for BCA at GGSIPU?
A: 

Candidates need to complete their Class 12 or a equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate with English along with Mathematics or Computer Science or any other subject related to Computer Science to apply for BCA at GGSIPU. Hence, it is not mandatory to pass Mathematics. However, candidate must have passed one or other specified subjects in Class 12. 

Besides, aspirants who have passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for the BCA programme.

Q:   Is it possible to get admission to IPU with a JEE Main score?
A: 

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers a BTech course in a full-time mode. IP University BTech admission is based on candidates' performance in JEE Main Paper 1 score for all specializations except Biotechnology. The basic eligibility to be able to apply for the course is that the candidate should have passed Class 12 from CBSE with Science, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% provided that the candidate has passed each subject separately, and English (core/ elective/functional) should be a mandatory subject.

Getting admission to BTech at IPU University Delhi is not difficult for hardworking students. The IPU University Delhi admissions are based on merit and entrance exam scores. I am 80 percent because of studies. The placement is okay. Infrastructure needs to get better.
Placements: It's such a nice college. Placement states are good. The highest package is 20 LPA, and many companies come here. 90 percent of the people get placed. I think placement stacks in decent, not that good, and not that bad. There is no internship offered by the college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is excellent. Food facility is good also. They provide good medical facility. They have labs for each subject with well equipments. The rooms are good too, and it's fun life in hostel and in college. I would say it's good for studies. Sports activities they have are just tennis and badminton.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. Most of them teach well. The curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are not really tough. Passing percentage is just that you need 30 marks in each subject including internals and external paper, that's not really tough.
Other: I chose this course because I love coding so I wanted to. I think the attendance criteria should be less. Events happen like we have a fest in January, and we have a Navratri fest and a Diwali fest too. So it's good if you have friends.

Dissatisfied due to the bad infrastructure, college life, and school-like environment.
Placements: About 50% of students are placed because many students do not fulfill the criteria to even sit for placements. Also, many companies revoke placements and take their offer letters back. The highest package is about 22 LPA and the lowest is about 3 LPA, given by mass recruiters like TCS. The average package would be around 6-7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, ZS, and ION. Our college doesn't provide any on-campus internships. Students have to apply off-campus.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are average, just like school classes. Wi-Fi is not available everywhere, and AC is also not available everywhere. The library is above average. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is below average. There is no medical facility available. Sports are dead in this college. You are not even allowed to go on the ground when the classes are going on.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in this college. They are qualified and very knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is also very good. Although the curriculum is totally irrelevant and does not make students industry-ready, you have to do your own research and develop skills on your own to get a job. There is a bit of strictness compared to other colleges. Students are not allowed to roam freely on the campus during teaching hours, and there are lots of assignments and tests. The semester exams are easy, and teachers give marks easily, so it is quite easy to score good marks.

Dissatisfied with placements and crowd.
Placements: Placement scenario is not good. 90 percent of students didn’t get placed. The highest package offered this year is 7 LPA in TCS. Mass recruiting companies are also not hiring here. Gaycity internship company also came this year. Average package is around 2–3 LPA. No return on investment.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have ACs, labs are also fine and equipped with everything that’s required. The library has all the important books, and books are also provided for each semester free of cost. In-campus hostel is not present, and the food in the canteen is the best part. It’s hygienic and no compromises in taste. There’s just one ground, and sports practice etc. are usually held in some other venue.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful, highly qualified, kind, and soft spoken. The teaching quality, however, is just average. Some teachers do not take classes at all. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are of moderate level. Approximately 50 percent is the passing percentage for midsems (the semester exams conducted in college.
Other: Only B.Tech is offered in the college. The college campus size is quite small. Only 2 buildings are present. The lift is not working most of the time. It should be fixed. Events are mediocre. Campus crowd is not good. Scholarships are available. There are different societies too.

Honest review about my college.
Placements: 80 percent of people got placed and others cannot match up to the minimum company eligibility criteria. The companies that visited during my time were Nagarro 4 LPA, Aricent 3.5 LPA, IVP 5.5 LPA, Thorough Good 12 LPA, Thought Works 8 LPA, TCS, and various other small firms. The average package was around 5 LPA and the highest went up to 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is average, rooms are small as compared and there is a shortage of rooms too. PGs were not easily available, especially for girls.
Faculty: The course was quite good according to IT. From the point of view of the course, it was basically designed for software engineering jobs in industries. It's a unique course that covers each and every bit in software engineering. Some faculty members were good, but overall, the faculty is a little bit lower than on paper. Placements: There is a placement cell in the institute that provides internships at the end of the second year of college and placements in the 3rd year. The companies are trusted and reliable and chosen by the college itself for the students of the institute.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure consists of six floors in total, with numerous classes and has two washrooms on each floor, including one common room. Two lifts have been provided for easy accessibility of the students to reach their designated classrooms. There is a canteen where we can eat and have snacks whenever required, and much more.
Faculty: The faculty has been supportive and nice overall to all the students, always helping out with the academics. There are a total of 4 CTs, with one minor exam, and then the final exams are conducted by the IPU for the students of the college. It helps them retain all the knowledge.

Q:   How can I apply for GGSIPU?
A: 

Candidates willing to get IP University Delhi admission through IPU CET must first apply on a centralised Indraprastha University Delhi admission portal of IPU CET. Download the admit card and then appear for the entrance exam. Afterwards, take part in the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University GGSIPU Delhi couselling round. Then visit the official website of the selected college and apply for admission.

Q:   Is MCA 2 or 3 years in IPU?
A: 

As per the IP University 2023 brochure, the duration of all the MCA courses is two-year. The course is further divided into semester pattern. There are four semesters during the course. The syllabus might also be defined semester-wise. Candidates have to pass all the semester exams in order to get a MCA degree from IPU.

Q:   I've scored less than 50% in graduation. Am I eligible for MBA at GGSIPU?
A: 

Aspirants who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50%-60% aggregate are eligible to apply for MBA programme at GGSIPU. Candidates with a 50% score in graduation can also apply provided the requirement of aggregate is 50% or below. For MBA specialisations requiring 60% or above aggregate, candidates need not get admission with 50%.

Q:   Can I get direct admission in IPU BCA?
A: 

GGSIPU does not allow any of the affiliated colleges/institutes/agencies to grant direct admission to BCA courses. Hence, the university is not responsible for any amount deposited or paid by the candidate directly to the affiliated colleges/institutes of GGSIPU. Candidates are also advised to not share their User ID or Username and the login password with anyone for safety purposes.

Q:   Is IPU admission open?
A: 

The IPU CET 2025 applications are now closed. IPU CET 2025 exams was conducted from Apr 26 to May 18, 2025. IPU applications for all the affiliated institutes is conducted through a centralised application portal, which is directly accessible from the official website of GGSIPU. The admission for GGSIPU are likely to open soon for 2026 session. 

Q:   What were the registration dates for CAT?
A: 

CAT application process 2024 began on August 1, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The registration process ends on September 20, 2024.

The schedule of CAT 2024 registration cum application was announced on July 28, 2024 at the iimcat.ac.in website. The notification for CAT 2024 was released at the IIMCAT websites and in all national newspapers. The last date to submit CAT application form 2024 was September 13, 2024 but was later extended to September 20, 2024.

Q:   How is the library at GGSIPU?
A: 

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has a state-of-the-art infrastructure. The library at IP University is centrally air-conditioned and fully automated. The library is well stocked with 67,000 books, 12,000 e-books, 15,000 journals, and subscriptions to 14 online databases. Remote access is available to the students and faculty for the resources along with the WebOPAC facility. Besides all these facilities, students also have access to 05 DPL's Zonal Libraries and 37 library units across Delhi. The students can avail of Newspaper archives from 1952+ and 6000+ e-resources.

Q:   Is MCA available at IPU?
A: 

Yes, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers a two-year full-time MCA course at the postgraduate level. The University also offers MCA (Lateral) course for a duration of one year. Admission to MCA is completely entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test (NIMCET).

Q:   What is the fee for the IPU MBA form?
A: 

The application fee for MBA at GGSIPU is INR 1,500. Candidates can pay the fee in online mode through credit card/debit card/net banking. Candidates also have to pay the respective national-level exam fees. The fee for CAT is INR 2,300 (for General Category) and INR 1,150 (for reserved category). CMAT exam fees is INR 2,000 for General category male and INR 1,000 for General category female and reserved category candidates. Furthermore, the IPU CET application fee is INR 1,200.

Q:   Is B.Ed available in IPU?
A: 

Yes, IP University offers two-year B.Ed course. Admission to the course is based on merit in IPU CET/CUET followed by counselling round. Moreover, the university also provide B.Ed (Special Education) courses in five specialisatons. Admission to the special education programmes is only through the IPU CET exam. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility requirements before filling out the application form.

Q:   What is the minimum qualification required for B.Ed course admission at IPU?
A: 

For IPU B.Ed admission, candidate should hold a bachelor's degree and/ or in Master’s degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities, Engineering or Technology with at least 50% aggregate, or Bachelor‘s in Engineering or Technology with a specialisation in Science and Mathematics with a minimum of 55% aggregate. Aspirant should hold the original and copies of the documents during application form filling and admission process.

Q:   What are the fees structures for BTech programmes at GGSIPU?
A: 

GGSIPU BTech fees range between INR 1.4 lakh and INR 10 lakh. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. The fee mentioned here does not include the university charges of INR 15,000, security amount of INR 5,000 (One time, refundable) and student activity fee of INR 1,000. The expected GGSIPU MBBS cutoff 2024 offered through Vardhman Mahavir Medical College is must range between 107 and 129. The UNiversity offers MBBS through North Delhi Municipal Corporation Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital, the expected MBBS cutoff must range between 909 and is 1054 for the Geenarl category All India students.
