King George's Medical University is a goverment university which was established in 1905. The university is accredited with A Grade by NAAC and is approved by UGC, DCI, and MCI. King George's Medical University is a public university which is accredited with A Grade by NAAC. Being a public university. The fee for various courses is not very high. KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India. DM stands for Doctor of Medicine, which is a super-specialised course in the field of Medical. Candidates can only pursue this course after getting a PG degree in Medical. For admission to a three-year DM course at KGMU, aspirants must get a PG degree in either MD/ MS or any equivalent from a recognised institution recognised by Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Admission to this course is entirely based on NEET SS entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for DM is standard for all NEET SS aspirants.

King George's Medical University accepts NEET PG scores for admission to the MD, MS and PG Diploma courses. KGMU MD cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein the most in-demand MD specialsiation was MD in Radio Diagnosis. The last-round closing rank for admission to the MD in Radio Diagnosis course was 143 for the General AI category students. The least important specialisation was Anatomy with a closing cutoff of 83112.
