NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, KGMU ranks 8th in Medical, 29th in State Public University and 83rd in the Overall category.
The NEET MDS 2026 application form is likely to be released in Feb 2026 for KGMU admission to MDS and PG Diploma (Dental) courses.
A few more updates are given below:
- NEET UG 2026 registration dates have yet to be released. Additionally, the NTA is likely to conduct the NEET exam on May 3, 2026.
- The NEET PG Counselling 2025 round 2 final seat allotment result has been announced for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. For round 3, the dates are expected to be released soon.
- According to the official notice, UP NEET PG Counselling 2025 for Round 3 has been postponed until further updates.

Admissions to DM at KGMU is entirely done via NEET SS scores. To apply for KGMU DM admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET SS entrance exam in the first place. For that, aspirants must fill an online application form on the official website of NEET SS. The application fee for NEET SS is INR 4,425. The step-wise application process for KGMU is given below:
Step 1: Visit the official website and register yourself.
Step 2: No candidate can register for more than one application
Step 3: Fill the application form with all the mandatory details.
Step 4: Pay the application fees online through debit/ credit card/ net banking.
Step 5: Check the status of your application including images in your ‘My Page’ section.

For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.
NEET rank and scores are not required if candidates want to seek admission to the BSc Nursing programme offered at King George's Medical University. The aspirants must appear for the Uttar Pradesh Common Nursing Entrance Test (UP CNET) if they want to get admission to the KGMU BSc Nursing course.
KGMU NEET UG cutoff 2024 has been concluded for admission to the MBBS and BDS courses. For KGMU, round 4 was the last-round for BDS. For MBBS, round 3 was the concluding round for the General AI category students seeking admission in 2024. As per the KGMU MBBS cutoff 2024, the latest (last-round) cutoff was 2059. KGMU NEET UG Round 1 cutoff for KGMU Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is 1097 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this.
With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting KGMU admission to MBBS.
The total fees for BSc courses at KGMU range from INR 48,000 to INR 3 lakh. Fees for the BSc programme also varies according to reservation quota. Candidates from general category are required to pay INR 48,100 (With Hostel) and 43,200 (Without Hostel). However, OBC/ SC/ ST category students are required to pay INR 42100 (With Hostel) and INR 37200 (Without Hostel). Usually, the tuition fee is paid at the beginning of each academic year.
Candidates who qualify the selection process for various UG & PG courses at KGMU are offered admission. After the commencement of the counselling process, the selected candidates are required to pay fee for the respective courses to confirm their seats.

KGMU offers admission to MBBS course for a duration to five and half years (66 months). Admission to MBBS courses is entirely entrance-based. In order to get admission to MBBS course at KGMU, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised board. Form MBBS admissions, KGMU accepts valid scores of NEET UG, which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. Candidates who qualifiy this exam will be allocated seats as per NEET UG Counselling in various rounds.
Candidates seeking for admission to MBBS at KGMU Lucknow must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate as the minimum eligibility criteria for General category candidtaes. There is a five percent relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories.
In addition to this, candidates must also qualify NEET UG exam with a valid score. The cutoff may fluctuate every year, as it depends upon multiple factors. KGMU UP NEET cutoff 2024 was released in the form of opening and closing cutoff ranks. The cutoff was released for admission to MBBS course, for different categories under Home State quota. For students belonging to the General All India quota, the closing ranks for MBBS was 3484. For OBC Home State category candidates, KGMU MBBS cutoff was 3665. For the SC HS category and ST HS category candidates, the closing ranks were 37757 and 176581, respectively. Finally, for the PWD HS category, the last round closing rank stood at 660143.
KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India.
