MAKAUT offers BTech programme across two specialisations at the university campus. However, there are more than 20 BTech specialisations available at the affiliated colleges of MAKAUT. Some of the affiliated Engineering colleges under MAKAUT include Asansol Engineering College, NSHM Institute of Engineering and Technology, among others. 

As per the data collated from various sources on the internet, the median salary offered to MAKAUT (on campus) and at its affiliated colleges ranges between INR 1.7 LPA and INR 40 LPA. However, due to its non-official nature, this information can be considered indicative. Additionally, most of the verified students' reviews on the MAKAUT BTech programme mention that students are offered 80-100% placements every year and that companies, such as Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Berger, Haldia Petrochemical, and Nestle, among others, are visiting the campus for placement opportunities. MAKAUT can be considered a decent option for BTech.

No, admission to MAKAUT is based on entrance exams for courses such as BTech. Candidates wanting to get admission to MAKAUT for BTech must qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) exam and WBJEE Counselling. Those willing to get admission in the second year must appear for JELET (for Lateral Entry). MAKAUT also accepts JEE Main exam for BTech admission.

MAKAUT University accepts both merit and entrance based exam scores. The university conducts CET exam in June for admission to courses such as BSc, MSc, BBA and BCA courses. MAKAUT conducts JEMAT for admission to MBA and MHA courses. It also accepts a few other state/ national-level entrance exams such as WBJEE, PGET,  UGC NET  (including JRF)/ CSIR NET for admission to UG, PG and doctoral-level programmes.
