The review of the best college in Salt Lake Sector V.
Placements: A minimum of 50 percent get placed. I don't know the exact details yet about companies like TCS, Infosys, or GreyB. I don't know the placement record very deeply, but I've shared what I have heard, and believe me, they aren't false. This college places students in some of the world's top companies.
Infrastructure: The classes are really good with modern technologies. Labs are fully air-conditioned. I am not a hosteller, so I don't know if the medical facilities are good. The institution is very keen on sports and games. They often host events, sports competitions, marathons, and football tournaments, which make us feel very energetic after hectic exams.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. It prepares them for different fields. The exams are difficult, with the pass percentage ranging from 70 to 80 percent. Despite being difficult, faculty helps us very keenly without any doubt. They send us notes and questions to practice and are also available 24/7 for doubt-solving.
Other: I chose this course because of my love for electronic stuff. Everything is perfect. IEM is full of events, the campus crowd is good, and the connectivity is very strong.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by Haldia Institute of Technology
3.6

Supportive faculty and decent infrastructure, with scope for better placements.
Placements: 90% of students get placed in our Civil Engineering course. The highest package is 8 LPA. The lowest package is 2.4 LPA. The average package is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies for our course include L&T, Kalpataru, and Pinnacle. The top roles offered in our college are consultant and site engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, and labs are decent. The classrooms are also good. The library is well-equipped, with all the books available for your course. Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Hostel facilities are not very good. The college provides shared rooms with two students, study tables, chairs, bedding materials, and Wi-Fi. The food quality in the mess is not great. Facilities for sports and games are good. It includes football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and chess.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are generally helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable in their subjects. Their teaching style is easy to follow. They are approachable whenever students need clarification. The course curriculum is relevant and covers the essential concepts needed to build a strong foundation. Although adding more industry-oriented training and workshops would make students even more industry-ready. The semester exams are moderately difficult, but with regular study and a proper understanding of the syllabus, they are manageable. The pass percentage is also decent. Most students clear their subjects with consistent effort. Faculty members are good and supportive. They always help and complete their subjects before the examination. They clear all doubts and provide suggested questions for the exam.
Other: The course is good. A few areas could be improved. More industry-oriented workshops and updated lab equipment would help students gain better practical experience. Increasing the internships, industrial visits, and skill-based training sessions would also benefit students. Some subjects could be taught with more real life case studies. It makes learning more engaging.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by Haldia Institute of Technology
4.2
4Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Good learning environment, average placements, but overall a satisfying experience.
Placements: In the Civil Engineering department, around 80-90 percent of students from the recent passing-out batch secured placements through campus recruitment or off-campus opportunities. The highest package is 7 LPA-9 LPA, the lowest package is 2 LPA-2.5 LPA, and the average package is 4.2 LPA-5.8 LPA. Top Recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Ultratech Cements, Tata Projects, Afcons Infrastructure, and ACC Cement.
Infrastructure: The Civil Engineering department of Haldia Institute of Technology has well-developed academic and laboratory facilities. The department provides high-speed campus Wi-Fi, smart classrooms with projectors, and dedicated laboratories for all major subjects, such as surveying lab, concrete technology lab, strength of materials lab, structural engineering lab, soil mechanics lab, transportation engineering lab, fluid mechanics lab, and environment engineering lab.
Faculty: The teachers in the Civil Engineering department are helpful, experienced, and knowledgeable in their subjects. Most of them explain concepts clearly and support students during labs, projects, and doubt sessions, which makes the overall teaching quality quite good. The curriculum followed by the institute is relevant to the industry, covering essential subjects like structural analysis, geotech, environmental engineering, transportation, and design software skills. It provides a strong foundation and helps students become industry-ready when combined with internships and practical exposure.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering because I have always been interested in construction, design, and understanding how structures are built. The best things about this course are the strong practical learning through labs, field work, and the chance to learn topics that are directly connected to real-life infrastructure. I also like that the course has a wide career scope in both government and private sectors. I wish there were more software training sessions and more industry visits or live project exposure, which would make students even more industry-ready. Increasing placement opportunities for core jobs would also be a great improvement.

Absolutely decent, according to me, it should focus on the changing world.
Placements: The total of 90 percent is the placement rate in my branch. The highest package is about 8 LPA, the average is 3 LPA, and the lowest is 1.5 LPA. The top recruiting company is Pinnacle. There are more recruiting companies like L&T, Accenture, and Ultratech. Overall, the placement is good in the institution.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is good, with good Wi-Fi, labs and classrooms are decent, but the locality is very offside. The quality of hostel accommodation is good, and the quality of food available in the mess is decent. Medical facilities are very good, with 24/7 ambulance availability.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good overall. My experience is good with the faculty. The course curriculum is outdated, it should be renewed according to the changing world. Students have to push themselves more to be industry-ready.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College review.
Placements: Currently pursuing my B.Tech from BC Roy Engineering College. In my batch around 70 to 75 percent of the eligible students are placed. The highest package offered is around 8 to 10LPA the lowest package offered is about 2.5 to 3LPA and the average stayed near 3.5 to 4.5LPA. Companies like TCS Cognizant Wipro Capgemini Accenture and a few startups are the main recruiters. Around 40 to 50 percent of students got internships mostly through TCS iON BSNL and some teach startups. The top roles offered are Software Engineer Developer Analyst and for core branches Trainee/Junior Engineer roles.
Infrastructure: My department has good basic infrastructure with Wi-Fi smart classrooms updated labs and a useful library. The hostel is comfortable with clean rooms and regular water and electricity. The mess food is average but the canteen has better options. Medical help is available on campus and the college also has facilities for sports like cricket football volleyball and indoor games. Overall the infrastructure is decent and supportive for students.
Faculty: The faculty in my course is helpful and knowledgeable. Most teachers are well qualified and explain topics clearly and they are approachable whenever we need guidance. The curriculum is mostly relevant and covers the important subjects though like most colleges some parts still felt a bit theory heavy. The semester exams are moderate not too easy and not too tough. If you attended classes and studied regularly passing was not a problem. Still backlog is a problem and makaut is unpredictable. The overall pass percentage in our course is usually around 70 percent. It depends from department to department .
Other: I chose this course because I was genuinely interested in the field and saw good career opportunities. The best part is the practical learning through labs and projects along with supportive faculty. I do wish the course has more industry focused training and workshops. Campus life is lively with fests events and plenty of extracurricular activities. The surroundings are peaceful and the campus is overall good. Scholarships are available for eligible students which also helped many in my batch like swami vivekananda available for WB students only.
