NALSAR Highlights 2025
The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research was founded in 1998. It is located in Secunderabad Hyderabad has been recognised by the University Grants Commission. NALSAR has been ranked 3rd in the law category by NIRF and accredited grade "A" by NAAC.
The University offers full-time UG, PG, doctorate, and diploma programmes in various fields of Law and Management. It also offers part time programmes under the NALSAR Directorate of Distance Education. Nalsar University stands behind NLU Kolkata (NUJS) with a great placement record over the years. No, NALSAR University of Law does not grant admission without CLAT score. Hence, the course aspirants must take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and secure a valid score. NALSAR Clat cutoff 2024 has been concluded for admission to the 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. A total of five cutoff rounds were released by the Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) for providing admission to 24 NLUs for UG and 21 NLUs for PG courses.

NALSAR University of Law prepares LLM cutoff list as per the applicants CLAT scores. In 2024, the closing rank for LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law was 298 for the General-All India category. The cutoff can vary based on the chosen LLM course specialisation. Considering the last three years' cutoff, the closing rank shows a fluctuating trend for NALSAR LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law. The closing rank was 224 in 2023 and 240 in 2022.
The cutoff rank for NALSAR varies every year. It is determined based on applicants CLAT score. To get admitted to NLU Hyderabad, applicants from the general category typically need to receive a score on the CLAT exam above 90. OBC applicants should strive to score more than 80 out of 120 in the exam.
Every year, CNLU releases CLAT Allotment lists for admission to all the National Law Universities in India including NALSAR. For 2024 admission, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT Fourth Allotment list 2024. NALSAR Scholarships 2025
The University provides two scholarships which include means based scholarships and means-cum-merit based scholarships. These two scholarships are called as Scedule I and Schedule II scholarships. Interested candidates need to fill out an application form to apply for these scholarships. These scholarships or fee concession is offered to BA LLB (Hons), LLM and MBA programme. Aspirants are offered seat in NALSAR University of Law top courses such as BA LLB (Hons) and LLM based on CLAT score. Candidates with a good rank in CLAT have a chance of getting admission in the university. Besides, the selection for BBA is based on IPMAT, JIPMAT or CLAT scores. Admission to MBA is based on CAT score. The university also conducts an entrance exam to select candidates for MBA. Selected aspirants are further called for a personal interview round for admission.

Yes, NALSAR offer an MBA course for two years, distributed into four semesters. The MBA at NALSAR is given through the Department of Management Studies. The eligibility for admission to the MBA course is that students should complete their graduation and secure an acceptable score in CAT/ GMAT/ NMET/ XAT.
NALSAR University of Law considers entrance exam scores for admission to most of the courses. CLAT is accepted for admission to popular courses of NALSAR-BA LLB (Hons) and LLM. Common Law Admission Test, known as CLAT, is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). CLAT is an offline exam and include sections on English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. Besides, the university accepts IPMAT, JIPMAT, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses.

Nalsar University of law have courses on undergraduation post-graduation, Diploma and doctorate positions . The admission process is of 4 steps . First step is to register and fill the application form online for the courses other than BA LLB , on the official website of Nalsar University of law . For BA LLB, candidates are required to register through CLAT. Next the candidate need to pay INR 1000 for fees . Second step is to appear for CLAT exam to get admission in BA LLB and LLM programmes . Third step is counselling in which qualified candidates will be allotted seats and they have to accept it . Last step is to upload the required documents and submit fees under required time limit .
NALSAR Hyderabad follows a fee refund policy for students who exits or fails to pay the fee. Below are the conditions for fee refund:
- In case an aspirant exits or fails to pay fee due to NALSAR within the prescribed date, or is found ineligible upon document verification are refunded an amount of INR 20,000 as confirmation fee and INR 5,000 of counselling registration fee.
- In respect of the candidate who does not turn-up for the interview/ on the date notified by the university for document verification, 10% of the tuition fee is retained by the university and the balance amount

As per the eligibility criteria specified by NALSAR University, the minimum required aggregate ranges between 45% and 50%. Hence, aspirants with 60% in Class 12 have a chance of getting admission in the university. Besides, candidates also need to qualify the accepted entrance exam. Aspirants wishing to pursue BA LLB (Hons) must appear for CLAT. For BBA, aspirants with IPMAT, JIPMAT or CLAT score can apply for admission.

The total tuition fee for NALSAR University of Law BA LLB (Hons) programme is INR 7.8 lakh. The total fee of BA LLB (Hons) includes academic charges, user charges, one-time fee and refundable deposits. Aspirants need to pay a refundable deposit of INR 20,000 (INR 14,000 for SC/ ST).
