SASTRA University Course Admissions 2026: Application Form, Last Date, Eligibility

At the undergraduate level, this deemed University offers BTech across 30 specialisations along with Integrated MTech across two specialisations. Spread over four years and eight semesters, admission to BTech is possible at SASTRA Deemed University via two methods:

Stream 1: JEE Mains + Class 12 marks (50% weightage given to each), for admission to 50% of the total seats

Stream 2: Class 12 marks (100% weightage), for admission to the remaining 50%

The following qualifications must be met by the students to secure admission to BTech at Sastra:

• Candidates must have obtained 60% aggregate in their Class 12 with Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Biology from a recognised board.
• Taken JEE Main exam

SASTRA University provides various programmes and specialisations to students. These courses are available in different streams. For obtaining SASTRA University admission, candidates are selected on the basis of entrance tests. Earlier, SASTRA University application process was conducted in both online and offline modes. However, 2022 onwards, the process has shifted completely to online mode.

• Further, they have to go through the selection rounds and counselling process and then confirm their seat on payment of the admission tuition fee.

There is no such provision for getting direct admission in any courses at SASTRA University. SASTRA University admission is both a merit and entrance exam based on the course for which the candidate has applied. Selected candidates can register further for the counselling process after submitting the counselling fees; during this round, candidates will be required to report to the admission cell at SASTRA University for document verification and other admission formalities along with fee payment.

Students looking for admission at SASTRA University, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university. For UG courses, students must complete Class 12, and for PG courses, students must complete graduation. For eg, students looking for BTech first year admission must complete Class 12 with 60% aggregate.

There are no cutoff details available on SASTRA University official website for admission to the MBA programme. SASTRA University inducts candidates for the MBA programme based on valid scores in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ AIMCAT. Candidates based on their scores in any one of the aforementioned exam will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round.

SASTRA University BTech admission for the academic year 2024 has not yet started. In 2023, BTech applications were released in Aprit 23, 2023 and the deadline for submission was June 24, 2023. Based on the last year's schedule, it can be expected that this year also the SASTRA University BTech applications will release in April and the last date to apply will fall in June.

SASTRA University BTech seat intake at the main campus is 2265 and at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre, the seat intake is 420. There is no seat reservation policy followed by SASTRA University. However, admission to 50% of the total seats are done considering the candidate's performance in JEE Mains and Class 12 (equal weightage given to both aspects), and the remaining 50% of seats are filled based on the merit secured in Class 12.

 

SASTRA offers merit-based scholarships to meritorious and skilled students under the following categories:

• It awards merit scholarships to the students who fall in the top 3 to 10% of high scorers in their semester examinations. The students are offered one-fifth of the semester fee
• The top 3% scorers at the university are offered two-fifth of the semester fee
