At the postgraduate level, the institute offers a one-year LLM programme to the students across two specialisations. The course is spread across one year consisting of two semesters. Admission to this course is done as per the norms set by the Bar Council of India (BCS) and is subject to a valid score obtained by the students in their last qualifying exam. i.e. their UG degree.

Candidates willing to take admission to SRM can apply online on the official website of the deemed University on payment of a common application fee of INR 1,200. The application process is common for all the courses. A step-by-step process of SRM University (deemed-to-be) application is as follows:
- Step 1: Visit the official website of SRM IST and click on ‘Apply Now' on top or on the respective course application link in the right corner.
- Step 2: Click on ‘Apply Now' in the new window in front of the desired course.
- Step 3: Register as a new user by adding all the relevant details in the registration form.
- Step 4: Using the login credentials created in the last step, login, fill in the complete application form, pay the application fee and submit the form.
