SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai PhD Admission 2024: Eligibility & Selection
PhD is offered in full-time and part-time mode. PhD (part-time) is offered in three to six-year duration divided into six to 12 semesters, respectively. Candidates can gain admission to PhD through the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT-Phase II or the AICTE QIP Scheme.

Full-Time candidates: All candidates who pursue full-time research in SRMIST shall belong to this category.
Part-Time (Internal) candidates: All candidates employed in SRMIST who pursue part-time research in SRMIST shall belong to this category.
Part-Time (External) candidates: All candidates working in industrial units, colleges, government departments, research organisations or other institutions, sponsored for pursuing PhD courses in SRMIST while continuing to serve in their respective institutions/ organisations which are recognized as the Research Centres of SRMIST shall belong to this category. They shall pursue research in their place of employment and/ or in SRMIST.
