It was not as good as expected, as it was informed over the website or the brochure mentioned.

Placements: There are no campus placements. The salary offered is Rs. 50,000 per year. I took an unpaid internship at Shodhaka Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. Later I worked as a project assistant at the Centre for Human Genetics, Bengaluru, in a DNA sequencing laboratory.

Infrastructure: Labs are not much equipped, and mostly we use outdated technology. Our project work lab was in the worst condition and gained no genetics work due to the pathetic principal investigation mentor.

Faculty: Some lecturers were from the zoology subject as the genetics department was collaborative within the zoology unit. The course curriculum is outdated, and project work was irrelevant to our curriculum. Only with good research work, one gets a job. Semester exams are fine enough. The pass percentage is 35%.

Other: I have chosen this course because I was interested in research-oriented sciences as genetics is widely recognised in western countries. The syllabus should be upgraded to the international level. The campus is green and spacious but unsafe for girls after evening hours. Our college conducts cultural and sports events every year, which is appreciated.
