Jamia admission to all the MTech specialisations is based on a candidate's performance in the University-conducted entrance exam called Jamia Milia Islamia Entrance Exam. - NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% and 2%, respectively in the aggregate of the qualifying examination.

The University offers several scholarships on a merit and needs basis. The details regarding some of the JMI scholarships are given below:
- Jamia Merit Scholarship: The top scorers of the respective exams are eligible for this scholarship.
- Merit Scholarship for the Centre of Management: This scholarship is given to MBA first and second-semester students. The top scorers of semester exams are awarded this scholarship.
- SC/ST/OBC Scholarship: This scholarship is given to the reserved category candidates. Economically weak candidates are also eligible for this scholarship.
- Scholarship for International Exchange Programme: Candidates who are selected for the International Exchange Programme are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship is offered by the Centre for Management Studies.
