Punjab University Boys Hostel Facilities:

Accommodation charges for boys in the hostel are Rs. 5600 per semester which is INR 10200 per year and the same is the charge for the girl's hostel. The rooms in the hostel are quite clean and well-furnished. There are 08 boys' hostels on campus and there is a different mess in the hostel which provides vegetarian food and seasonal food to the students. Registration for the hostel can be done by filling out the hostel's registration form, which is available on the college's website. Students are also required to fill out the anti-ragging form and submit it to the hostel office. The registration and hostel seats are given to students based on the merit list released by the university every year. The merit list that is released by the university every year is based on the distance of the student’s hometown to the university and the merit list is also based on the marks scored by the student in the previous exam. 

The boy’s hostel fee is not so high it is nearly RS. 5,600 only and there is also security money which is nearly RS.7000 and the security money is given back after completing one year in the hostel. The student must live for a complete year in the hostel according to the rules and regulations of the University. If/ the student fails to do so, then it is essential to give the fees for a complete year without residing in the hostel.   The room sharing in the hostel in the first year is for 2 students and 2,3,4 sharing is also allowed in a single room.

The boy’s hostel facilities include free Wi-Fi, and beds, chairs, and tables are also provided by the hostel to the students. Each room in the hostel has balconies and separate cupboards for each student and the gym facility is also provided to the students. The food quality in the mess is also very good. The solar water heater is also in the hostel and the hostel's common room has LCD, magazine and newspaper facilities as per the student’s needs. The Hostel has an aqua-guard for the safety of the student and to ensure that every student drinks safe water and stays away from illness there are also geysers in the bathroom for the winter season. Though the rooms of the hostel are not so spacious, the rooms of the hostel are small. The room has coolers in it.

Hostel meal is charged 40 on a daily basis and for the special meal, the price per meal is RS. 46. 

The boy's guests can also stay in the boy's hostel for a day or two and then they are charged according to their needs. The charge for the room for a day is RS.45 only and the charge for the common room is a little less than a separate room. The Lunch and dinner charge is RS. 40 only and the breakfast charge is RS.50 only, Ex-resident charge of the hostel is RS.20 only.
