SET Exam Application Form 2026: Registration Date, Fees & How to Apply

SET application process 2026 is expected to begin in the second week of December 2025. The SET exam 2026 will likely be conducted in the first and second week of May 2026.

The SET exam application schedule will be announced online. The SET exam application process begins with filling out the SET exam application form and proceeding on to the fee payment. Candidates have to choose the their preferred institutes they wish to apply for admissions through SET exam score at the time of registration. Candidates are eligible for admission to only those institutes that they had selected in the SET application form.

Generally, the conducting authority announces the commencement of the registration process through a detailed notification that includes important dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and other relevant information. The notification is usually released well in advance to allow candidates sufficient time to complete the registration process.

Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the SET exam:

1. Visit the SET exam website- set-test.org
2. Click on the 'Apply for SET' button on the homepage and fill in the required details such as name, date of birth, phone number, etc. 
3. Students will receive the login credentials on their email ID and mobile number. They can use that to login into the candidate portal to complete the further steps. 
4. Uploaded the required documents, such as photograph and signatures and click 'Ok' 
5. Fill the OTP received on the registered mobile number and pay the application fee.
6. Submit part 1 of the application form. 
7. Part 2 of the application will require the students to fill the details about education background, institute preference and centre preference. 
8. After filling the required information, proceed to pay the application fee (online or through DD) for the institutes
9. Finally submit the application form and take a print out of the SET form.

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is an undergraduate entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University). SET does not have a specific age limit for candidates appearing for the Symbiosis BBA exam. Students from any stream can appear for the SET exam provided they fulfil the academic criteria. There is no age limit for students taking the SET exam.

Yes, international students can apply for the SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) under the Foreign Nationals category and seek admission to various undergraduate programmes offered by Symbiosis International University (SIU). 

International students should meet the eligibility criteria for SET, which includes completing Class 12 or an equivalent degree from a recognised board or institution. 

In addition to academic qualifications, international applicants need to satisfy other requirements, such as obtaining a student visa to study in India and meeting any language proficiency criteria.

Candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with at least 50 per cent aggregate are eligible to apply for SET exam. There is no age limit to appear for the exam. Candidates in the Class 12 or are awaiting the Class 12 results can also apply provisionally and present the marksheet at the time of admission. The candidate who has completed class 12 or equivalent from a foreign board and must have obtained an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is eligible.

There is no provision of paying the SET registration fee by cash. There are only two ways of paying the application fee. i.e. online or through DD.

The SET application form will be available online only. The SET application form is released on the official exam website of SET. The university does not provide any provision of offline SET registration. Candidates need to pay the application fee online as well or through a DD. Even if the candidates are paying the application fee through a DD, they should still apply online and upload the required documents. 

All communication regarding the SET exam, including the application process, admit card release, result declaration, etc., is done online only through the SET website.

No changes can be made to the SET application form 2026 once submitted. Candidates should carefully fill the SET application and registration form before paying the SET application fee. Candidates should check the information entered before submitting the application form. 

Candidates must note that there will not be a form correction window once the application window closes. Hence, they should double check the application form before submission. 

SET exam is held in about 80 test cities across the country. An applicant can select up to three test cities during the SET application process. They should choose the test city carefully as the request to change the test city later may or may not be accepted due to non-availability of seats at the centres in that particular city. The SET exam is conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed-to-be) University (SIU). SIU is responsible for organizing the exam, setting the exam pattern, conducting the test, and releasing the results. They are also involved in coordinating the admission process based on the SET scores for various undergraduate programmes offered by participating institutes. The exam is a gateway for admissions to various UG courses such as BBA. 

SIU also conducts entrance exams for courses such as Management, Law, Engineering, Economics, Mass Communication, Computer Studies and Liberal Arts. Earlier, the exam was also conducted for B.Sc Culinary Arts but this exam was scrapped in the year 2021 for this course.

 SET scores are accepted in the ten prestigious colleges of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Each institute releases its individual cutoffs and conducts the SET selection process. Candidates can only attempt the SET exam twice on the given test dates. The SET exam 2026 is expected to be conducted on two dates, likely in the first and second week of May 2026. The SET exam 2026 will likely be conducted on two days (one session each day).

Candidates can mention their number of attempts while filling the SET application form. However, they have to pay the application fee per session. Thus, candidates who are sure of making multiple attempts only they should apply for multiple sessions as the fee amount is non-refundable.  The scores of best attempt will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates for WAT/GD/PI/Studio Test.

Symbiosis International adheres to the reservation criteria as per the University of Grants Commission guidelines 2006 reservation policy for all the institutes. The sanctioned intake is as follows:

The SET application form 2025 was released on December 6, 2025. Candidates who are interested in appearing for the exam can register on the set-test.org website till April 12, 2025. The application fee payment window will also close on the same day. Candidates must note that the SET application form can only be filled online, however, the fee payment can be done online as well as through a Demand Draft. 

Some of the ways to avoid common mistakes in the SET exam are:

1. Students should try to develop a strategic approach by allocating specific time slots to each section during the SET preparation and give priority to the easier questions.
2. Students should not underestimate SET mock tests. Students should take regular mock tests as they stimulate actual exam environment and help them familiarize with exam pattern, type of questions, etc. 
3. Relying solely on rote learning and ignoring the conceptual clarity can hinder your performance in the SET exam. Students should ensure they have a strong understanding of the fundamental concepts in Mathematics and English. 
4. Do not overlook sectional preparation. Students should focus on identifying their strengths and weaknesses in each section and allocate enough study time accordingly to achieve a balanced preparation. 

SET exam is conducted only for admission to the BBA programmes offered at Symbiosis institues. Candidates seeking BBA admissions can apply for the SET exam by filling the SET application form. The other exams for different courses include SLAT, SITEEE, SNAP, etc. for admission to SIU. 

During SET registrations, candidates should have the following documents and information:

• Scanned, clear, recent passport size photograph matching the specified format and size. 
• Active email address and mobile number
• Personal information such as date of birth, residence, category, nationality, etc. 
• Educational background, including the name of the institute last attended, Class 12 marksheet, etc. 
• Category certificate if applicable

Step 7. In the application form, fill personal details, academic details, test city preference, courses, etc. and pay the application fee

Step 8. Upload recent passport size photo and signature

Step 9. Pay the insitute fee to complete the form submission process.

SET fee is the same for all categories. The conducting body, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), typically offers the same application fee for candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC/ST as for the unreserved category.

This year, the application fee for SET is INR 1950 which includes GST. Students have to additionally pay the institute fee, i.e. INR 1,000 per institute.

When filling out the online application form, candidates belonging to the reserved categories will be required to select their category and the applicable fee concession will be displayed accordingly. 

The SET application is not refunded under any circumstances. Once paid, the SET registration fee will be non refundable. In case a student is unable to appear for the SET exam, he/she will not be refunded the money spent as the SET application fee.

No, candidates will not need to require to fill a different SET application form if they belong to a reserved category. The SET application form is the same for all candidates, and they have to choose their category during the registration process (Part 1) of SET. 

The conducting authority of Symbiosis Entrance Test takes into consideration the category information provided by candidates while evaluating their application. Depending on the eligibility criteria and reservation policies, candidates belonging to reserved categories may be eligible for specific benefits or relaxations in terms of seats, cutoff scores, or other criteria.
