Bachelor of Fine Arts or BFA course is also known as Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) or Visual arts. Types of BFA Courses

BFA course is of three to four years duration undergraduate course which includes six to eight semesters of six months each. BFA syllabus includes both theory and practical. BFA syllabus consists of core and elective subjects. Core subjects can be defined as subjects that are necessary part of students' learning, while elective subjects are the optional subjects. BFA Degree Courses

BFA is a regular full-time regular programme which is of three to four years duration. BFA degree courses are divided into six to eight semesters. The course structure of the course is VI Semesters, Core Subjects, Elective Subjects and Research Projects. The core subjects of BFA courses include Pictorial Design/Painting, Appreciation and Fundamentals of Visual Arts, Printmaking, Design-2D & 3D and Geometry, Perspective & Calligraphy.

Distance BFA Courses

BFA courses are also available in distance mode. Candidates who aspire to pursue BFA course but cannot do it full-time can opt for the distance mode. There are many colleges and universities that provide distance BFA courses. IGNOU is one such college that provides distance BFA courses.

Part-Time BFA Courses

Candidates can also pursue part-time BFA degree courses. Aspirants who cannot complete BFA in full-time or regular mode due to any reasons including time issues or financial issues, can pursue part-time BFA courses. There are a number of colleges and universities that allow students to work and study at the same time.

Online BFA Courses 

BFA courses are also available in online mode. However, there are very limited courses provided in online mode as the BFA course also has practical classes. There are many institutes in India that provide online BFA courses. The duration of these courses may vary from 2 to 3 years. It is cost-effective and can be availed of from any part of the country.

BFA Diploma Courses

Diploma courses in BFA is a certificate level programme. Candidates can pursue BFA diploma courses right after completing class 12th. However, there are many institutes that provide BFA diploma courses after class 10th standard. Admission to BFA diploma courses is done on the basis of merit.
