AIIMS Delhi was established in 1952. It was granted the 'Autonomous' status in 1956 by an Act of Parliament.

Commonly asked questions On Fees and Eligibility
Yes, AIIMS Delhi is almost free for all the programmes including MBBS MD MS PG Diploma M.Ch. DM DNB etc. For MBBS the admission charges (non-refundable) are INR 25 at the time of admission and INR 35 per day for the first 10 days. Other than this, there is no annual fee at AIIMS Delhi. Students must make a one-time payment between INR 5,000 to INR 6,000 which is the fee for the complete MBBS course of 5.5 years.
The UG and PG students who get hostel at AIIMS Delhi campus are required to submit hostel fee from along with the tuition fee, every semester. For Junior residents, however, the hostel fee is deducted from salary. In addition to this, a hostel security deposit fee of INR 1,000 at the time of joining/ application. Yes, MSc is quite affordable at AIIMS Delhi. The total tuition fee for MSc is INR 1,400. Candidates need to pay a one-time fee of INR 25 at the time of admission. AIIMS is a government institute and has a very low fee compared to other Medical colleges of India. Due to limited seats and high competition only a few aspirants get a chance to pursue a course from the institute.
AIIMS Delhi Cutoff 2025
As per the recent NEET UG MBBS cutoff 2025, the Round 1 closed off on rank 48 for General AI quota students. Whereas, the NEET UG Round 1 cutoff for the General AI quota students for the year 2024 closed off at 47. The same category cutoff closed off at 57 in the year 2023.
As per the recent Paramedical cutoff 2025, Round 2 for General AI quota candidates for BSc specialisations closed off between the ranks 9 and 293. Specialisations of BSc such as Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imagine Technology (MRIT) and Operation Theatre Technology received the highest level of competition with rank 9 and 39. NEET UG Round 1 cutoff has been released for the AIIMS Delhi MBBS course. The Opening and Closing ranks depend on the category and quota of candidates. As per the AIIMS Delhi cutoff 2024, the NEET UG Round 1 opening rank was 1 and the closing rank was 47 for the general category candidates under All India quota. The NeXT Exam is conducted in two separate segments knows as ‘Steps’ in the online mode. The NExT Step 1 is a theoretical examination consisting of six papers. NExT Step 2 is a Practical / Clinical and Viva Voce examination covering seven clinical subjects or disciplines. The qualifying cutoff marks in NExT Step 1 will be calculated as whole number which will be considered as a Raw Scores with appropriate decimals and subsequently corresponding Percentages. The minimum marks for passing in NeXT are 50% or half of the maximum possible Raw for NExT Step 1.

The mode of All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS Delhi course admissions is online. Admission to various courses is based on the scores of entrance exams. For admission to its MBBS programme, All India Medical Institute Delhi accepts the NEET UG exam, while for admission to its PG programmes (MD, MS, MDS), the institute accepts the scores of INICET. All these hostel buildings have an overall capacity of about 2,717 seats and majority of this accommodation is for a single student/ residents/ married students or families.

- Library: AIIMS has a central library known as BB Dikshit Library.
- Sports Facilities: For recreational activities, students have the facility of a Gym, a swimming pool, indoor games and outdoor sports playgrounds within the campus.

The hostel facility of AIIMS Delhi, other than the residential building, provides a mess, a canteen, a juice shop and an Amul shop, etc., for the convenience of the students.
The college has single, double or triple occupancy rooms along with family rooms for married students. Most single rooms are furnished with a bed, a cupboard, a table and chair and a bookshelf. The married accommodation is also furnished accordingly. The hostel rooms also have a facility of attached washrooms but this facility is only accessible in married accommodation along with a few hostels. In general, shared washrooms and bathrooms are available for the students.
