Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri offers a four-year BTech course spread across eight semesters. BIT Sindri offers BTech, MTech and PhD courses across 15 departments such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, etc. Candidates who have passed Class 12 can apply for UG courses. Graduation is necessary to apply for PG courses. Admission to UG and PG courses is based on specified entrance exam score.
During the JEECE application process, the candidates will have to pay the required application fee. For the General/EWS/BC-1/BC-2 category candidates, the JEECE application fee is INR 500. Application Process 2025
Candidates wishing to apply for BTech programme at BIT have to first fill out the JEE Main application form. After appearing for JEE Main, candidates are required to register for JEECE Counselling. Below are the steps to fill out JEECE application form for lateral entry courses:
- Visit the official website and register for JEECE 2025.
- Fill the application form with the required personal, academic and contact details.
- Upload scanned copies of passport-size photograph, signature, left thumb impression and other required documents.
- Pay the required application fee in online mode.

Merit List
After appearing for JEE Main and filling out the JEECE application form, a merit list is released by JEECE Board. The merit list is prepared based on JEE Main score of the candidates. Based on the merit list, counselling rounds are conducted. For BTech (LE) admission, the institute conducts an entrance exam. BIT Sindri offers lateral entry in the BTech programme to Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology streams. Yes, candidates need to have a valid GATE score for admission to MTech courses. Aspirants must also pass BE/ BTech or equivalent in respective discipline with at least 60% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ ST candidates) for admission in the MTech courses.
