M.Tech. in Design Engineering - Batch of 2017

Better college for M.Tech than NITs, having good placement records in 2017 and 2016 also.
Placements: In our batch of 2017, 15 students were non-sponsored students which allowed for placements. Out of 15, 3 were students with a semester down and 12 were eligible for placements. Now, the placement is as follows, Dar al Hindeshah- 5 students(CTC-~5 lacs), Famic Technologies- 1(CTC- 7.7 highest), Atlas Copco- 2(CTC-4.7 lacs), Danfoss - 1(5.7 lacs), TCS - 1(3.5 lacs). 10 students got placements. For the internship, 3 students were doing internship cum projects in companies. The internship stipend was (12000-15000).
Infrastructure: For post graduation, design, thermal and automobile branches are present out of which thermal and automobile branches have their own labs with all necessary software installed in it and working LAN connectivity. Design labs will be ready in this year probably, but students have a PC in the guide lab. Wi-Fi has good speed with daily 1 GB of limit. Classrooms are good. and the library is very good with variety and quantity. Badminton court, table tennis and carrom are available. It is also having its own ground. Labs are equipped with costly and numerous necessary things. Hostels do not accommodate all students of even the graduate level. For post graduate, there is only one seat per branch allocated and that is the biggest problem as the area near the college is very costly. The mess facility at the college hostel is awesome. Any college student can join it.
Faculty: Faculty members here are basically selected by MPSC. Hence, most of them are from Maharashtra due to which some are lagging in English. PhD is the minimum qualification level. Some faculty members are on a contract basis. Most of them are very good in knowledge with a great experience. They help students in projects, eager to learn things, guides well. Conventional teaching methods are used. All classrooms have projectors for presentations. The students to faculty ratio is 18 students and almost the same number of faculty members are allocated for them for projects separately. For teaching, 7-8 faculty members are there for MTech. Students are combined in both semesters. Industrial exposure was good for us. Industrial visits were scheduled in the course. Guest lectures are numerous from industry specialists as well from the top colleges in India. Workshops are arranged by students and college also which provides exposure to students. M.Tech students are less active in such parts(sad but true).
Other: It is really the best college in Maharashtra after IITB. Students are energetic and actively involves in all competitions all over and wins also. The college has various clubs including history club, personality club, English club and many others. The college has its own very old boat club and the best alumni network because it is a very old college. Students really get something before they leave the college.

Hi Vinaya, If you have not appeared for the gate exam, then you will get admission through management quota. In management quota fees will be high (normally two times) and you will not receive any scholarships from government. Best of luck.
