Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) in Mumbai is generally considered a Tier 2 engineering college. While it has a solid reputation for infrastructure, faculty, and industry contacts, it is not one of India's top Tier 1 universities, such as the IITs or NITs. DBIT is noted for its strong emphasis on technical education and excellent placement chances with businesses such as TCS, Infosys, and L&T recruiting alumni. The college also provides good practical experience through projects and internships however its rankings and recognition place it in the Tier 2 category of engineering universities.

Getting into Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Mumbai was tough based on the course being opted for. Typically, the institute follows the merit-based system through entrance exams like MHT-CET and JEE Main where candidates need to score well.
